If you live for many years here in Poland, have a Polish partner...have a clue how this country ticks...With every weird post from the Polonialandists you see how distorted their view of this country is. They live in a Skansen. They cannot answer to any everyday question on this forum on everyday matters. They keep on ranting. They long back for the Kresy, where "everybody knew his place".

Nice one. OK Polonians! How much does a loaf of Baltonowski cost?

They long back for the Kresy, where "everybody knew his place".

Especially the Jews. Every good member of the North American Polonia lusts for the days between the wars when Jews really did know their place.

And by 'good member', I mean 'racist clueless morons'.

However, you can`t deny one fact - they are zealous patriots of Poland. Yes, it is often warped, but what is better: warped patriotism or complete indifference?

Complete indifference - it can't hurt Poland. No-one ever writes about the "complete indifference" of people, but they can write pages about warped racist patriotism that masquerades as being genuinely Polish.

We on here might know that people who use words like "Busia" are Grade A certifiable morons, but most people don't.

They are patriotic only about a country which doesn't exist.

"Busia" is a Polish term for "grandmother". Using this term is not all all indicative of moronism. Claiming otherwise is indicative of Grade A moronism.

And to further an agenda which has nothing to do with modern Poland and is actually contrary to the good relations that the previous President had with Israel.

It's quite scary how certain elements of American society have hijacked Poland as a platform to launch their racism from.

Not only scary but also downright annoying: we who choose to live in Poland and work with Poles know that Poles are nothing like the image which some racist morons who claim to be Polish project around the English-speaking world. Given that far more Jews speak English than Polish, those bigots from Polonia can do a lot of damage to the reputation of Poland and to Polish-Jewish relations.

But when bad times come, they will again rush to Poland`s defence, like in the past.

You mean like how they rushed to Poland post-WW2, pre-September 1st 1939, mid 1989 and all those other times?

And 2012 when they were even offered to have all their expenses paid so they could come and help Poland.

Don't start this again, it's becoming boring

No, I am not a comedian. I am dead serious now.

Sorry, delph, you just don`t know about all campaigns that Am Polonia organised for Poland during post war period. Polonius wrote about it in his closed thread.

BTW, why is Polonius` thread still closed?

Don't start this again, it's becoming boring

Hard job.

Did they push the US Government to tell all about what they knew? Did they take part in acts of civil disobedience in Poland? Did they - really - actually do a damn thing that mattered?

Pawian, why in 17 years in Poland have I never met a member of Polonia doing volunteer work here?
delphiandomine 88 | 18,163

I've met plenty of others, including some Southern Bapists who were lovely people and who were doing a really ****** volunteer job (teaching English to some really dreadful kids in bad schools).

That's not fair!
I know for a fact that the Polish American Congress shipped many, many containers FULL of medicines, xray film, bandages, IV poles, tubing, etc.
I helped load them during the '80s.

Yes, Rybnik, I know that. And many other too.

Shame that the whole organisation exists to pursue a dubious right wing agenda.

There was nothing dubious about those shipping containers.
