Do the Poles have a positive attitude towards the Danes and Denmark?

Hi everybody,

I'm a 23 years old Danish dude and I'm moving to Warsaw from Denmark in the beginning of February.

I've a question regarding what kind of perception the Poles have about the Danes, which I hope somebody can/will answer.

Are there a positive attitude among the Poles towards the Danes, Denmark and Scandinavia in general? Are there any kinds of stereotypes about the Danes or Scandinavians that I should know about?

I just want to be prepared before arriving in Poland :)

I think that they like Danes, as far as you dont try to bring sharia law to Poland like the Swedish let sharia dominate their country.

Well, that's embarrassing. The headline should have been "Do the Poles....." not "Does the Poles..."

Ups, my mistake: p

Thanks Levi_BR!

One thing is sure; then it comes to immigration, and specially the immigration from the Muslim world, are the Danes not as liberal as the Swedes. I'll let the Sharia law stay in the ghetto and Sweden. :)

Are you sure? According to the Danish Muslim Party, Denmark will be the first muslim nation in Europe. Let's hope they are wrong.

it's a hoax story, that party doesn't even exist... and yes Danes are much tougher on the Muslim immigration than Swedes (well at least the debate in Denmark candid)

So good that Denmark doesnt changed into a Muslim State like Sweden (or Swedenistan)...

The prompt isn't about Islam or Muslim people in Denmark, so please return to the topic

Why would Polish people have a negative attitude towards Danes? There's no reason whatsoever - unless you talk about the ridiculous prices for alcohol in Denmark, that is... ;)

there are no stereotypes of Danes in Poland - not many people know anything about Denmark - perhaps the only thing they ever saw connected to Denmark was films from the Egon Olsen series

having said that there are people fascinated with Denmark - I used to study some Danish language - I don't remember a lot to be honest but I can still say 'Jeg elsker Danmark' :)

Danes? Well, should we tell truth of them or sacrifice truth in order to be politically correct in the eyes of the EU`s ruling establishment? No, not only in order to be politically correct but, in order to accept how are Slavs historical looser which could be punched over the mouth if just dare to disturb false European peace built on Slavic blood and tears.

From all Germanic kind, those were the Danes that dealt greatest damage onto the Baltic Slavs and particularly to the ancestors of modern day Poles. That was Danish archbishop Absolon who destroyed temples to the Svetovid at Arkona and Rujan island, committing enormous cultural and ethnic genocide on Slavs.

But, to be fully aware of the proportions of this tragedy we have to know that are Danes, same as most other Germanics nothing but germanized Slavs, Proto Slavs or Sarmats if you want.

Bring some vodka and you'll be fine :) Don't bother about any nationalistic fellows, they are everywhere in the world. But in general, we Poles, have nothing against Danes. And to be honest, most of people are not quite familiar with this country. They only know that it's Scandinavia and has cross on the flag.

Ah, sorry, and some football fans will recognize Peter Schmeichel and Daniel Agger. ;)

Most Poles whom I know have a very positive attitude towards Denmark as well as Danes-:)
Sadly though, the opposite is rarely true.

Denmark isn't in the news very often, it's a quiet achiever. This means there isnt much to connect you. This is not a bad thing. You will be fine, you wont have to put up with crow either, he not allowed in Poland.

Hi,

For typical Polish person, Danes are like Germans, but without all that brutal historical burden. You should have no problems at all in Poland.

Good luck

I concur! Just learn enough of the language, and you should be fine:-)
Forget about English mistakes. Your Polish interlocutor will probably neither know the difference or even careLOL
