"konczy Ci sie waznosc konta" - Play (Poland phone company) has gone insane. Help?

Play, starting at midnight every day, starts bombing me with text messages until midday. I literally woke up to 95 texts from them. They all say the same thing:

Za dwa dni, dnia 3/8/12 (date keeps changing though) konczy Ci sie wasnosc konta. Doladuj konto na [website] lub przez karte zdrapke.

What is this saying and is there any way to make this stop? Unfortunately, I can't go out and change my number right now. I have that number on something rather important, and no way to change it.

it is probably a glitch in their system. go to a Play outlet and tell them- maybe they can help.

Will try that. Gods, I hate that service, but for at least two weeks more I'm stuck with it.

One thing I do like about them, however, is they do generally have English speakers on staff at all times. That and the magical credit that never expires is why I've put up with them for so long.

your top-up is gonna expire in two days, on 3rd od August. Top your mobile up through our website or buy a scratch card from your newsagent. (kiosk)

anyway there shouldn't be so many of these messages

Every time some intrusive popup appears on the net, especially, when it obscures your viewing or working field and you have to frantically hunt for the tiny, faitntly visible X button to zap it out ASAP, I resoilve never to touch that product. Even if they were giving it away! The point is not to keep it to yourself but inform the ofrending company that you wouldn't touch their product with a barge pole and why.

Orange is a god example -- Orange on TV, Orange on the net, Orange on billbaords and radio, Orange text messages, Orange in front fo Poland's first Divison Football, Orange this, Ornage that, it's got to where you're afraid to open the fridge!

Merged: Help with Play Mobile network Provider - stan konta?

Hello guys,

Jak się mają?

I have a mobile provider (PLAY) and I am not able to understand the current situation:

I topped up 30zl in my phone one month ago and and now it seems it stopped working since it doesn't even send texts anymore (the promotion has expired yesterday).

When I press STAN KONTA *101# I can read this message:

Pozostalo ci 15,15zl do wykorzystania do 3013-03-28 23.59.59. Dodatkowo w ramach srodkow promocyjnych masz 0,00zl do wykorzystania do.

I understood that the money I didn't use during the promotion could be used after as normal SMS/calls traffic.

Does that mean I have to to top up again?

Thank you so much for your help :)

Sebastiano.

Yes - you should top it up. Ifyou don't use it much, you have two choices. Only top it up a little, so you'll get short periods of time, but won't lose much. Or top it up by 100 or 150 and you'll get a much longer period.

So, those 15,15 zl that I have left because I have not used are completely gone?

Just to have a rough idea, because in other countries where I used to live before it worked like this:

The money that you haven't used during your promotion period (let's say top up of 10£, for internet and SMS, and I only use 7£ during the promotion), is going to stay in your mobile until you completely use it.

Therefore, it seems it doesn't work like this in Poland, does it?

It's only 3 euros.

In PL the time limit is quit strict - then again, the prices are cheap.

T-Mobile do a starter pack for 25zł (2GB). They might work differently but you still only have a month to use the 2GB. However, some money might remain in credit on the account which you perhaps can then buy a top up or phone calls with. I am not at all sure, so you will need to ask at one of their shops in shopping malls etc. You will of course need an unlocked dongle-modem.

No, they are not. If you charge it again it will be added.

So, what does a person do with that unused credit? Because, for example with T-Mobile internet, you have to do a 25zł top up to get 2GB again. What does the surplus money get used for? Phone calls? I just don't understand how it works. In the UK, if you buy 1GB that's what you get and the account does not say that there's any money left, it just shows how much MB you have left. Here, it shows MB and zl. There must be an easy explanation...?

From what I understand it's about a mobile phone not internet so:
as it was cleared every charging keeps your account active for a period of time. For 30 zl I think your account is active for one month, 100- 6 months. Let's say you didn't use all money in that period (as in this case)- your account is frozen (sending SMS and calling). The money you have left don't disappear but you have to charge your account again.

Our OP has 15 zl left- so if he charges for 100 his account will be active for 6 months and he'll have 115 zl.

Thanks Lenka, so it sounds like it is just for SMSs and calls, or expensive mobile phone (or possibly dongle) internet by the byte (which is always very much more expensive than buying a package/packet data allowance).

For 125zł, on PAYG (Pay As You Go) Play gives 15GB valid for 120 days. I use 1GB a week at least (and that's without using Youtube).

For 30zł Play give 2GB (T-Mobile charge 5zl less). Both are valid 30 days.
