Where there are no signs there is a 90 km/h speed limit.

Did they give you a physical ticket?

I know 1 person who tried to bribe a police officer when he got a speeding ticket. He got prosecuted in the court for this.

I asked if she got a physical ticket because then it is not a bribe.

I drive through Poland regularly and I have been stopped, fined and I too have negotiated BUT it was not a bribe.

I would not even attempt to bribe a Polish police person, I have bribed Lithuanian police on several occasions (but that's a different story).

They took the 100zl instead of giving me a ticket.

There were signs for 50km they say i was doing 85km.

Probably it was a rather good deal for you.

But these days it can be rather dangerous to try to bribe a Polish police officer, as I described above.

Speeding offence, 50 and over is 500 zł so it’s a bit less in your case but than let’s say not using seat belt 100 zł etc. You got off cheap. LOL I’m just waiting for you to start a thread about corruption, damn foreigners.

I wouldn't say i tried to bribe him.

The conversation went something like this.

Police: It's a minimum 300zl fine for speeding.

Me: 300zl oh no

Pause

Police: Ok 200zl

Me: I haven't got 200zl, i've got 100zl and £20

Police: No £

Long pause

Police: OK 100zl and no ticket.

David, I really doubt that a woman who can afford a car would be so desperate to give a policeman a bj in order not to pay a fine, really :) She can flash her eyelashes at him but that's it ;)

You could always drive within the speed limits - that is also an option. Maybe for future reference that is the way to go?
I got fined in February for speeding as well - only felt irritated I had to pay on the spot.
But as Delph explained - I was lucky, by this way it did not cost me any points.
Got a nice receipt though :)

That always works for me; unless it's a female cop!
