Jarmark in Wroclaw - Christmas display get negative attention

Hello all,

I'm visiting Poland and have been to the rynek several times now. Each time i was there, while walking around drinking/eating, I heard people make negative comments on a display where a character throws another character into an oven. The most common comment (joke) was "look here, it's a niemieckie swieta (german holidays)."

Here it is. Please turn down the volume before playing it due to annoying interference:

Anyone in wroclaw noticed this? I would have never made a death camp connection to this.........

death camps are really tragic and memorable part of last century (for poles) so such connections are obvious

Anyone in wroclaw noticed this?

that is one of half a dozen displays with scenes from children's stories.

i saw it last year and didn't notice any concern.

however, i was more interested in the company i was keeping, rather than earwigging

I think its a depiction of the Hansel and Gretel fairytale.

Yeah, I'd agree.

Some folk just like to make sick connections (I do it myself occasionally).
