Polish cycle sites to report possible stolen bikes

I was on the SKM from Reda tonight to Gdansk...

Saw an immaculate 2013 Cannondale SL3 MB with a gentleman - now, I'm not one to judge by appearance, but this chap didn't look like someone who would own a 3500 zl cycle.... I didn't engage him in conversation as I had a hungry labrador bothering me.........

I would go ape-shiite if I ever lost my Merida; all us cyclists know that Cannondale is a sorry shadow of it's former USA self, but I would love to cop for one of these bikes.....

If it were tea-leafed from Weherowo district, where do I announce it (as in the UK we have CTC and other sites to flag it up)?

I have pics of bike and "owner" but will not post them here as it could be defamatory.

Ta in advance

I own Merida too :)
There's no central Polish stolen bike database site - but we have couple choices (of course if I was a victim I would report on the Police and at every possible website)

bazarowerow.org/
forumrowerowe.org/forum/113-skradzione/
qr-rowery.pl/rowery/skradzione.html
bikeforum.pl/forum/47-skradziono-rower/

You mean he wasn't arrogant?

It's Wejherowo not Weherowo and it's a city / town not a dristrict.

Merged: Bike stolen today near Metro Służew in Warsaw

Hey guys, didn't exactly know where to post this, and what difference it will make. I had parked my bike right outside "Land" shopping center at 8:30 and when I returned to get it at 11 am it was gone. It was tied to the bike racks with a cable lock (I know, useless). I'm filing the police report tonight.

It is a Mongoose bike, Fire Comfort model. Looks exactly like this one in the picture, but with black fenders. It's easy to spot due to the red/golden frame. The front and rear wheels are different (the rear one is Schwalbe, front I don't remember). There was also a basket-holder attached at the front and a red back-light.

Lots are stolen, even from outside Arkadia, which has security guards always nearby.

Your best bet would be to keep checking Allegro to see if anyone's selling it. You'd need to prove it's yours, of course.

Thanks, will do that. I'm checking both Allegro and Olx.pl to see if it turns up. I'm also cross-posting on some polish bike forums.

Another thing. Have to say this - but you need to be spending at least 15 per cent of your cycles' value on locks - and THREE different locks at that. Google around for info as to why....

We've all lost bikes - sorry to see that. It hurts I know :(

Thanks for the replies guys. Now I know that I should have used a stronger lock, or even 3 locks. I was just too stupid to imagine a bike being stolen in broad daylight where hundreds of people are moving around. I filed the police report yesterday, but I don't know if they have ever recovered a bike. I'm printing some flyers to post up around where it was stolen with a picture of the bike, maybe it's still in the neighborhood. Posting on the facebook page 'Spotted Warszawa' was also suggested, which I'm going to do.

Someone from another forum suggested trying the Giełda Samochodowa (car exchange), which i checked and is in Białołenka, saying that in Szczecin that's where most bikes would end up. I don't know about Warsaw. Do you think it's a good idea?
