Similarly to majority of the countries in the world then.

Polack jokes lol.

I think jokes about us are sometimes funny. I often laugh my ass loud reading gay jokes or "dresiarze" jokes or jews jokes. Thing is they are all just that. Jokes. Nothing real. Just made up.

A proper joke is the real life one and Americans are best on this classification.

Mind you its not a joke. Its American reality.

I wonder why some take the criticism of their tribe as if it was directed at them. If it's justified, I would join.
When I heard Polack jokes back in the sixties, I never felt they applied to me or were told to make me personally feel bad. I was just there and it was their country, so, tough sh*it, Rich, if you don't like them.

Eventually, as the profile of a typical immigrant from Poland improved, the Polack jokes simply disappeared.

Nope, they still exist, only went to hiding due to PC and fear of being sued.
Rich Mazur 4 | 3,053

Nope, white Poles are not one of the protected classes, hence no protection because it would not be PC. That concept applies only to the non-whites.

The assault on white Christians is on - full auto. Jews and Muslims are exempt for the reasons you just mentioned.

Nope, they still exist

Rubbish. They disappeared when Americans realised there were far worse threats to their society than Poles.
And that Polish Americans actually helped to uphold American principles rather than try to undermine them, as some more recent immigrants have done.

Rubbish.They disappeared

Of course not. It is obvious you know very little about it. E..g, you don`t follow Polish media which report cases of Polish jokes from around the world, especially the USA.

I do and I can say your opinion is groundless.

And that Polish Americans actually helped to uphold American principles rather than try to undermine them

Exactly. We are more respected now because we earned it. No riots, no federal discrimination suits, no demands for special privileges and treatment.

Polish media which report cases of Polish jokes from around the world

You are falling for PIS insular propaganda my friend.

I can say your opinion is groundless

I can say yours is groundless because the average American is not anti Polish, you will be telling me next that Brits are anti Polish too.

A country that has never made jokes about Poles and where they have always been admired and respected....... go on.....spew more insular nonsense.
pawian 223 | 24,389

You are falling for PIS insular propaganda my friend.

Wrong. Talking about Polish media, I meant what I said: Polish, not PiS Bolshevik. :):)

spew more insular nonsense.

I forgive you coz it is obvious you still don`t know what you are talking about. :):)

So say you, the worlds chief authority on Poland.
As Dolno said, I think you still yearn for the days of PRL.
Rich Mazur 4 | 3,053

The jokes we hear here now are from the comedians who by the PC rules must be of the same ethnicity as the joke target. Crossing over is a career ending move.

There are no Polish stand ups here, hence no Polish jokes.

I don't care from the press says here or somewhere else.

I haven't heard a derogatory Polish joke in over forty years here where I live or any place else in the U.S. that I have been.

I think you've lost this one Pawian.
Rich Mazur 4 | 3,053

I haven't heard a derogatory Polish joke in over forty years here

Me neither. The only insult directed to a Polish guy - that would be me - came from my wife when she called me a fu*cking idiot.

I still love her.

It's only the jewish media which still spreads polish jokes, not everyday people. Most recent example is the show two broke girls.
Rich Mazur 4 | 3,053
2 Oct 2019 #436
They probably feel it's a safe thing to do. I will watch it to see how bad it is.

As Dolno said, I think you still yearn for the days of PRL.

That`s funny. Whenever forum morons of plastic Polishness are caught lying, talking bullshit or simply being ignorant by native Poles here, they immediately adopt a defensive position using Soviet or PRL reference. hahaha

Why is it so?

I haven't heard derogatory Polish joke in over forty years here where I live or any place else in the U.S. that I have been.

Again, it means you don`t follow native Polish media. I do.
I don`t have time now but in the evening I will mention a few cases from recent years.

It's only the jewish media which still spreads polish jokes, not everyday people.

Yes, but now we are not talking about the source, but the fact. Jewish or not, such cases happen, once or twice a year.
Miloslaw 19 | 4,925
3 Oct 2019 #438
such cases happen, once or twice a year.

Once or twice A YEAR??
And you are getting upset??

Grow up man!
Rich Mazur 4 | 3,053
3 Oct 2019 #439
As I said, my wife calls me an a-hole twice a day. Anything that's twice a year doesn't make my concern list.
johnny reb 49 | 7,097
3 Oct 2019 #440
Again, it means you don`t follow native Polish media. I do.

You are correct, I do not because I live in America where I have not heard a derogatory Polish joke in forty years as I stated.

If the Polish media tells derogatory Polish jokes then shame on them.
The American media tells derogatory jokes constantly about Americans including our own president.
SO WHAT ! BFD !
I sure the hell don't take such jokes to heart like you touchy insecure Polacks seem to just because someone pokes some fun at you.

Learn to laugh at yourself ......... something you Polish seem very hard to do for some reason.
Get over yourselves.

Grow up man!

Now you're talking.

I have not heard a derogatory Polish joke in forty years as I stated.

FWIW: neither have I.

It seems to be some kind of stigma that the native Polish people have been instilled with for some odd reason.
Rich Mazur 4 | 3,053
3 Oct 2019 #443
My best guess: it's a side effect of feeling special. Add to this the missing ability to self-deprecate and the permanent status of a victim-nation and you have that kind of sensitivity.

BTW, that was not meant as criticism. Just an observation.

As far as I know, Poland went to hell and back more times than any other country, so their attitudes may be justified.

And you are getting upset??

Who told you I get upset? :)

I have not heard a derogatory Polish joke in forty years as I stated.

Yes, that is coz you think and live locally, why I do globally. :):)

Grow up man!

That is nice you are starting to accept my point of view, from your Disappeared to my Once or Twice a Year. :):)

FWIW: neither have I.

Again, local thinking. :)

It seems to be some kind of stigma that the native Polish people have been instilled with for some odd reason.

Hmmm, I don`t feel any stigma.

Guys, it seems you have huge problems with reading comprehension or even your sight - you see things which don`t exist. I was and still am completely neutral when I stated my first and next remarks about Polish jokes: Nope, they still exist, only went to hiding due to PC and fear of being sued.

Do sth about it coz we are wasting time trying to explain things which didn`t happen.

it's a side effect of feeling special

It is a diversion from the subject , but I can tell you privately: in comparison to a few forum morons who can`t properly interpret what they read , I do feel special. hahahaha

a few cases from recent years

Visit Poland. Your car is already there... :)
pawian 223 | 24,389
3 Oct 2019 #446
That`s German, while I promised to retell examples from the US.

I don`t have time now but in the evening I will mention a few cases from recent years.

That`s what I remember without googling

In chronological order

Case No 1

" Polish mine detector" about a dumb Polish sapper
wsj.com/articles/SB919627308903889500

Case 2
Polish vodka commercial with dumb Pollacks
https://polishforums.com/archives/2005-2009/news/alchemy-vodka-commercial-polaks-18969/

Case 3
Andre Rieu`s comments about dumb Pollacks
ampoleagle.com/antipolish-slur-cut-from-rieus-concerts-p2489-97.htm

Case 4
Senator Specter jokes
newsmax.com/InsideCover/specter-polish-joke/2008/12/13/id/327096/

Guys, now I could quote you saying you haven`t heard a Polack joke for 40 years. But I won`t - I simply hate kicking a dead dog. :):)

As for Polish jokes, they were aimed at Polish immigrants -just saying ...
Rich Mazur 4 | 3,053
3 Oct 2019 #448
That is why as soon as I realized it, I did my best not to act and appear like one. Switching to English everywhere and with no exceptions - Polish consulate in Chicago included - was part of it.
pawian 223 | 24,389
3 Oct 2019 #449
Oh, I forgot to quote and answer that one. Never mind who said it:

So say you, the worlds chief authority on Poland.

Yes, exactly. Can I feel a ltttle proud of being so? The case is simple - you are no match to me when Polish things - either in Poland proper or global - are involved. :):)

PS. Another quote: Remember that before you decide to take me on again.

hahaha

The latest case of 2019 involves a bad stereotype rather than a typical Pollack joke:

Some Poles felt insulted when American Airlines advertised their flights to Krakow by suggesting you go there mainly to drink vodka:

businessinsider.com.pl/media/marketing/nowe-polaczenie-american-airlines-krakow-chicago-spot-promocyjny/tgh7dc1

Explanation: there are certain Polish news portals which gladly pick up such info and use it in their daily coverage of world events. Some do, other not.
Miloslaw 19 | 4,925

Who told you I get upset? :)

You did.

I do feel special

I really don't know why you feel special, there is no reason for it.

you are no match to me when Polish things

I don't deny that, but you always put a left wing/liberal slant to your posts.
Neutral would be better..... you sound like the biased BBC.... :-)

Poles are a bit strange and over sensitive when it comes to percieved insults.
You are no different and certainly nothing special.
