Merged: Residency permit in Poland for non-EU citizen with Polish spouse

I am a non-EU citizen (from Argentina). My girlfriend is Polish and we are planning to get married soon and stay together in Poland.
Can I stay in Poland after our marriage? What is the procedure? (Getting Polish citizenship is not my intention, I just want to stay together with my girlfriend)

Will I also be able to work while staying in Poland?

(Note: Please answer only if you want to help. Don't answer if you want to criticize or make fun)

Are you in Poland now? How long have you been here? On what legal basis? You will need to apply for a residency permit here. You will not need a work permit.

BTW getting married in Poland isn't a simple process if you're not Polish.

I think that's absolutely splendid and i wish you a happy marriage. This is simply a wonderful site and I'm sure that you will receive a lot of invaluable comments.

I'm sure that you will receive a lot of invaluable comments.

Is your comment valuable or not? I'm sure it is since you wish them "a happy marriage"!

This is simply a wonderful site

Agreed. I couldn't have put it in a more accurate way.

getting married in Poland isn't a simple process if you're not Polish.

To make that comment even more valuable - in accordance with Oxon's idea - what makes it "not a simple process"?

what makes it "not a simple process"?

For starters there's the whole issue with the certificate of no impediment.

Here they write that foreigner can buy a flat if he has permit to stay, but to buy a house he must reside for longer than 5 years in Poland.

The same website explains procedure of obtaining residence permit: migrant.info.pl/Residence_permit_for_a_fixed_period.html

Merged: SPOUSE VISA REQUIREMENT- Long Term Stay in Poland

Hi All.

I am a non-eu citizen and have been living (working-PhD) in Netherlands for about 3 years. Recently, I got married to a Polish citizen in the Poland (but now living in Netherlands with me). Now we want to stay and work in Poland (not employed yet).

I would like to know if there is some possibility that I can move to Poland with her and apply for long term (1-2 year ) spouse visa and what are the requirements for it. Any website I can get some information (doesn't matter Eng or Pol)?

Also would it be possible that I can get some visa based on my bank statement (self support).

Thanking you for reading.

(Note: Please do not comment if you need to criticise me for what I am or whatever my situation is! Comment if you can help. thanks a lot)

I got married to a Polish citizen in the Poland

That's enough to get permit to stay and work in Poland or EU.

Now we want to stay and work in Poland

If your PhD was not in IT, then you need to speak Polish in order to work in Poland.

Read migrant to learn how to get visa and work permit.

I hope someone can help me for the list of official requirements to get married in Poland. I am a Filipina and my boyfriend is Polish.

I will be going to Poland with a tourist shenzen visa and we are planning to get married during my stay. I wonder which documents should I bring with me aside from NSO Birth Certificate and Certificate of No Marriage.

Thanks in advance!

Ok listen, the certificate of you not been married will be required from your embassy in Poland and not in Filipina(but u can have one in case), original birth certificate(they will keep it, so make 2 and keep one for yourself), these are most Important.

Most emabbies dont even issue that so there is a court procedure that takes months to get over that.

My future husband is from Morocco

If you are married by then, and your marriage is registered in Poland, then it should be straightforward.

First he needs apply for a Schengen visa, which shouldn't be a problem and will be free for spouse of Polish citizen. It would be very helpful if you could be with him when he goes to apply. You have to remember that almost by default authorities assume that this is a marriage of convenience, therefore you being present helps alleviate their suspicions.

Second, once he is in Poland, you need to register him as a resident at your address (zameldowania) for which you need either proof of ownership or rental contract. You will take proof of address registration, together with your marriage certificate (the Polish one) and copies of his passport (every page except blank visa pages) and your ID (dowód osobisty), photos and filled application forms, plus birth certificates of your children if you have any, and apply with these documents for his residence permit. Unless there is something wrong with your application, he will receive a temporary residence permit valid for 3 years.

Hi!

I would like to know what are you chances to get to Poland when freshly married to a Polish man.

What would I need do to get there? I am a Filipina.
Do we have to be married first for a long period of time or it wouldn't bother if it would be just after our marriage?

Thanks all.

There are chances as you are already wife of Polish citizen. You just need to submit all required documents. The most important thing is that your marriage has to be registered in Poland and you have to have Polish Marriage Certificate ( it is valid only for 3 months).

Hello:). I realize this subject was talked over many times here, but if possible, I would like to ask some more specific questions. I hold a Polish and Canadian citizenships, living in Canada. My fiancee holds a Venezuelan citizenship and living there as of right now. We were planning to marry in Venezuela, but due to the country's unsafe situation right now, it would not be possible for me to bring any members of my family there, thus the idea of getting married in Poland. My questions:

1. What type of visa might my fiancee need to enter Poland? I know he doesn't need a visa to enter if we would plan to stay under 90 days, but there is a possibility, that we would like to spend more time with family and visit some in UK. Maybe even travel through Europe. Do we have to state that right away, or can we just extend the visa or stay from inside of Poland?

2. If we decided to stay for a while in Poland, what is the procedure for getting a temporary residence in Poland for him?

3. Once he has that, can we travel freely in EU?

4. What kind of documents do we need to get married in Poland? ( We were both previously married to other people in Canada), and besides the documents, should we plan for any extra time be spent on getting additional info, ex. a proof of not being married to anyone else (I read somewhere here it is to be brought in through the embassy?).

Thank you in advance for any help with the above :)
