How can i get Poland residence card? Moroccan married to a Polish citizen.

Hello everybody,

Im a Moroccan man married to a Polish citizen,
I would like to know how can i get residence card or whatever its called? where to apply? and how much time it will take to get it?

Btw im a Graphic Designer, ready for freelance missions, i dont see much studios in the city i stay at, even tho its a big one.

What puzzles me is why you don't go to Urzad Miasta (Town Hall) and ask - would that not be simpler? Or am I mising something?

I will go, but i just want to have a pre-idea about the procedure of getting the residence, and get ready for it mentally.
Thats how i do things in my life, i ask different people, and i asked this question here hoping that somebody will have the same situation like mine.

Im a perfectionist, i would like to do things right without wasting time.

If I recall correctly, they give you a form in the Foreigners' Office, and you show them your passport, marriage certificate, proof of funds, proof of health insurance, and sometimes have to supply some photos where one of your ears is visible (along with your face). You are then asked to sing the national anthem in Polish to a member of staff which is simultaneously recorded via webcam on to the Polish national computer. This clip has the words and audio and may help you with the last bit (remember to practice holding up your left hand as you sing)

You mean the way Poles do it?

Yes, like when they get their laminated plastic ID card - they have to hum the anthem and hit that difficult note towards the end of each verse and only when the machine "hears" that does it actually start to print and encode the card. I know of some Poles taking singing lessons and classes to make sure they're not stuck in the office there singing it again and again or having to hum it again and again until the card office's laser printer finally detects the right semi-quaver.

Yes, on Skype, just 99zł for 45 minutes. (Most students need about 10 lessons to be word-perfect.) Of course, the best and most spirited rendition of the anthem each month gets entered into the vovoidship prize draw to win a year's supply of potatoes.

I don't think you need to sing the national anthem to get the residence card. I have a residence card but never had to sing it.

Firstly you have to get a "Residence permit for a defined period of time", and when this card expires(in 3 years I believe) you're eligible to obtain "Permission to settle".

Note :there was a delay with my work permit and they give it to me on the last day of my visa

I think you must go to the immigration office immediately and tell them your situation. The longer you wait the more trouble you get into as your stay here now has become illegal.
