Considering the new immigration laws as this article in the Krakow Post indicates is it for possible to for me to achieve residency after my wife gets her citizenship? We are retired, have income from investments and Social Security in the Unites States. We own our own apartment in Krakow and do not seek employment, just enjoying Poland and traveling Europe (not having to return to the United States every 3 months, which get quite expensive). I also realize that I will have to maintain private health insurance and possibly meet other regulations.

We stay for 9 to 10 months in the United States before returning to Poland. The next time (hopefully soon) we want to stay in Poland and travel around Europe for up to 2 years.

Why wouldn't I need private insurance if I am not a citizen only a resident? Is it because I would be married to a Polish citizen or is coverage given to residents also?

If we are living in Poland we wouldn't leave for more than two weeks at a time to visit other countries. So that part is not be a problem.

Thanks for this information.

Infact when I was getting my permanent card they counted all the stamps of me exiting and entering to Poland or any other country. You can visit any country ib the EU and was not considered to be leaving Poland.

Merged: The New Law

Hey all, Im Mateo from Serbia,

I have few questions about the new law...

I will get my permanent residence in this summer. I saw in forum that the old law has been changed by government. With the new law I have to be married two years more after my permanent residence If I wanna be Polish citizen. We were planning to give documents to government this year.So I will have to wait two years more... Is that true? If yes, so these are my questions.

1.Can I live in other country in these two years? And Can I apply for a new visa? Because I will have to leave Poland in this year for my new work in south africa. Thanks.
