Poland's Karta stalego pobytu - how long does the procedure take?

Hi everyone,
I filled the application for this card in the middle of February and a week later I was there with my wife for the interview. It's been 1 month and I haven't heard of them.

Does anybody have any idea how long does the procedure take ? I was hoping to apply for a loan, look for an apartment and to finally settle but unfortunately I can't apply with the residence permit I currently have because one of the conditions for applying is having a bloody karta stalego pobytu which I don't even know how it's called in english.

Does anyone know how long should I wait for them to call me ?
Thnx a lot

From memory they have to give you the decision within 45 days (but then they have up to three more weeks to give you the actual card).

I was hoping to apply for a loan

If you mean a loan to buy an apartment, good look with the paperwork there.

Thnx mate,I thought something was wrong because the previous cards were all ready within a month. I guess I'll have to wait another 2 weeks.

They just called me !!! I'm going tomorrow to the office to receive the decision. Finally, I'm sooooooo happy, end of that 6-months/1 year long cards.

Isn't it called a permanent residency card?

permanent residency card

Just to clarify, he meant a temporary residence card. Since he just came to Poland there is no justification to grant permanent residence. That's after years of residing in Poland. You mean a temp residence card, which is called karta czasowego pobytu.

Exactly, for this you are entitled after having lived here for 5 years. And you have to have meldunek na stale as well.

The one I will have is called something like: permit to settle.

permit to settle

It seems there is a confusion in some terms. What is the exact name of the procedure you are undergoing (applying for)?
I suspect it is zezwolenie na zamieszkanie na czas oznaczony. That is what I'm writing about.

Yes indeed :D :D

In the decision I received today from Wydział Spraw Obywatelskich i Cudzoziemców in Krakow is written: Wojewoda Małopolski zezwala się Panu .... ( me :D ) na osiedlenie się na terytorium Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej.

It seems that's a positve decision that you will obtain your temp residence card. Don't worry it's called temporary, you can renew it before it expires. After 5 years you could start the procedure for permanent one, but it gives you pretty much the same as what you have with the temp one, so no rush.

Ok, I'm really confused now. I specifically asked and they told me it's "karta stalego pobytu", even in a pamphlet I got there it's written: Zezwolenia na osiedlenie sie udziela sie na czas nieoznaczony.Dokumentem potwierdzajacym uzyskanie zezwolenia na osiedleni sie jest karta pobytu wydawana na 10 lat. I'm worried because I told my boss it's a non limited bloody permit.

3 years and 5 months.

The permit isn't limited. However, the card itself expires after ten years.

I think you shouldn't worry about your employer, just don't miss any deadline when renewing any expiring permit, that's all.

It seems you applied for the permanent residence and I assumed that it's rather the temp one. If I rememeber correctly, the permanent residence permit can be applied after you've lived in Poland for 5 years, so 3 years and 5 months would be too short. Either way, you have the positive decision now, so all good. Now 2-3 weeks waiting untill you can collect the actual card.

Hi ive been living in poland for 3 years, im from the UK and really the only thing you need is a pesel number. As EU citizens dont need karty pobytu stalego.

With a pesel you can have a loan or anything. Although you must have umowe o prace:)

Hope that helps.
