Hi all. Complex question. A person inherits a property, an apartment, but because of their financial situation they are unable to pay the monthly charges resulting in large sums being owed, can the authorities instruct bailiffs to enter the property to remove goods to the value of the debt? Also if the value of said goods fail to clear the debt can the authorities then attempt to recover the loss from the tenants extended family for instance a nephew or brother or sister even if they don't live in the affected property?

Very likely the authorities will instruct bailiffs to collect the sums due. if they don't get an answer the bailiffs will call the police and enter the building to remove property to the value of the debt plus costs of the bailiff collection. If they don't get satisfaction they will come after members of the family and take property from their houses.

No, they won't. They'll only do that if the family has liability for the debt, which is highly unlikely.

Regarding debts - I know it's a bit different, but if an absent father does not pay child maintenance, the authorities go after his parents who have to pay.
