Quick question, how do I go about checking the status of my Pesel #??? Like as in how do I check to see if it is still active or if the number is no longer like in the system?

Thank you

I may be wrong (it does actually happen sometimes, unbelievable but true) but I think it stays active as long as the person is alive. There was something in the papers about a poor old lady whose pesel had been cancelled because they though she was dead and she couldn't get it back again.

Would it stay active even if I were to give up my citizenship???

Pesel has nothing do with citizenship.

No??? It would stay.active.even if you don't have.citizenship...... I would assume you would lose your sin and or snn if you were to lose citizenship and it would.become inactive no??? That's not the same for poland??

If Pesel had something to do with citzenship, no foreigner in Poland could have one.

...... its not your ssn number nor is it an sin number its the same number of digits as a pesel number starts wit your dob. Year/month/date followed by for me an 8F meaning I'm a female then 7 random digits followed your country

They are not called that and they are not important to remember.

They are not called that however everyone should remember it. Not to hard imo since the first 8 numbers are your day of birth. 99% remember their PESEL I believe since it's just easier to do than every time check it.

8F meaning I'm a female then 7 random digits followed your country

Actually in Poland there are no letters in Pesel and date of birth is followed by 5 numbers

In my polish passport I also have the 8F in it.

Idk maybe that's not the pesel number then, google just said it was so idk haha

Pesel don't have letters. Simple. Your Pesel should have your date of birth and 5 digits after that. If it's something different it's not Pesel.
