There should be no more "this time". Let the Europeans alone. No more "peace" missions.. We should be loose friends, but friends just the same.

Poland had the fourth largest army combating the Germans, the most highly decorated navy, the largest, and most effective, resistance organization, and made numerous other great contributions.

So much the worse was Poland's defeat. How it could be that owing all such forces Poland was able to resist only few weeks?

Con, within the same time yours lost territory much bigger than the whole Poland. Besides It's not easy to fight when one is attacked from every side.

You are right, but we were still able to fight.

Besides It's not easy to fight when one is attacked from every side.

You are not right. Soviet troops invaded only after total Poland's defeat by Germans.

when one is attacked from every side.

He means german troops from Silesien,West Pommern,East Pommern,Czech and Slovakia at the same time. The Germans had a party attacking from four different directions.

But they might ask for help in Soviet Union, as Baltic states did!

Russia at the time couldn't even succesfully invade Sweden

Sweden? Actually dont remember such campaign from 1809, the year we had our last military conflict with Sweden. If you meant Finland, well, it was right war, because needed some additional territory around SPb.

Americans seem terrible at war and unable to locate entire countries and when the do fire they either hit their own or people on the same side. What was Iraq all about? Twin towers get hit by Al quaeda and then 2 days later war on Iraq, They might as well declared war on spain. Get your atlas out next time boys! Not blatently about oil was it? Next thing we know our, Brothers, Sons, Fathers, Friends and other Army personnell from european countries are being killed so that Americans can drive their hideously inefficient dynamicly inferior vehicles around for an extra few years.

Disgusting!

If it wasn't for the Polish pilots in WW2 we would be speaking german now and I couldnt think of anything worse, Oh and don't forget the legendary spitfire which those said pilots flew!

Um....not only the US does this. Weren't 9 British soldiers just killed by a British Apache helo? I know the US has donr this on more than 1 occasion, but unfortunately it's due to us being at war more often.

BTW, I drive a VW :)

Edit: I apologise...wounded bt British friendly fire.

NoImmy, Mr C is a Russian....

WWII is an interesting debate and all, but dont you think it's time to move on, 1,000,000 of lives were lost in combat and by civillians on ALL sides, I just hope that Europe never suffers losses like that ever again.

Exactly. We can sit here and point fingers all day long.

yes you forget though, the Russians took it back!! The Polish had to be liberated :)

If it wasn't for the Polish pilots in WW2 we would be speaking german now and I couldnt think of anything worse,

well i'm a big fan of the Canadians and Poles that flew in the RAF and a big thanks to them, its not like they just joined for no reason though is it, lol, they had just been flattened by the German blitzkrieg, they couldn't wait to have a go :). To say if it wasn't for them joining is the difference between winning and loosing, don't be so silly.

Weren't 9 British soldiers just killed by a British Apache helo?

blue on blue happens, its just one of those things about war, in fact i'm suprised it does not happen more offen. If you think about the amount of time we have been at war now in Iraq and Afghanistan you would expect a few more accidents. So to say that the Americans and British do this and make it sound like they are useless you have to look at the time scale and logistics of the whole operation.

Sorry Noimmi,

The poles didn't help at all did they? It was all down to the keyboard warriors who managed to defeat zee germans and students who make narrow minded remarks on teh internetz.

I stand corrected.

How much did the Polish aid the battle of Britain?

English arrogance aside.

Aid? Don't you know that Poles fought the entire battle? Haven't you heard how not a single British or commonwealth pilot even took to the skies? You must have heard; next thing you'll be telling us that you haven't heard how Britain sold Poland to the Soviets for three pound fifty and a packet of crisps!
