The actor playing Marshall Piłsudski should've lost some weight and been given bushier eyebrows by the make-up artist. He doesn't look nearly imposing enough.
a.k.

The actor playing Marshall Piłsudski

It's Daniel Olbrychski... and I have an impression that he gained weight for this role (he used to be more slender)

I saw this in 3d at the cinema, its full of 3D gimmicks (flags, fists, guns pointing at the viewer). I hope it is better than that.

I am now curious.... and will go to see this movie when it's "aired". Just hope it's not like "Quo Vadis". B. Szyc is a good actor but it will be interesting if he will support the whole movie.

Can't wait!

A war movie in 3 D, should be great(: Although i thought there was a thread on this somewhere else already. Though I have got to say, i am not sure if I like the male lead actor-i think they could have easily found somebody much, much better.

I'm not making a suggestion. I'm only wondering... would bootleg dvd's of the film, possibly start being sold in Poland soon?

Daniel Olbrychski..

Amazing Polish actor, especially on the theater scene Divides his time between Poland and France.
That's why he is starting to look like Gerard Depardieu! Lol

A Review of the film:-

Thanx.

The review is very favourable. I hope our Great Expectations will be satisfied.

My class is going to the cinema in October. Other schools are planning the trip too.

when schools do that it usually means pay attention as it will somehow feature in the upcoming matura examinations.

Who knows?
The primary reason is that 3rd years in high schools are doing early 20th century now - WW1, Independence of Poland, Polish-Bolshevik War etc etc. History teachers hope that students will grasp the subject more efficiently through the film. :):):):)

A Review of the film:-

A fantastic review indeed! This movie should be worth seeing, if only for the cinematography. This little excerpt caught my interest: Cinematographer Slawomir Idziak (who shot Harry Potter And The Order of the Phoenix, and was Oscar-nominated for his work on Black Hawk Down) uses 3-D effectively.

Apparently there is something in it for all those folks with a little penchant for bloodlust. Although I still question whether Szyc should have been the lead actor, personally i think he does not measure up.

Hey champ, I think we'll have to wait for this to come out on Foxtel, or go with all the babcia's/busia's down to the Polish Club to watch it.

no chance of a 3d release here but may be part of a film festival...katyn was part of the melbourne internationa film festival a few years back.

Bad luck i guess, if they did show it at the Polish club i am sure it would be worth seeing, even without 3D

Too bad.

Only, why the movie had to be made in that horrible 3D format?

The review is very favourable.

Ooops, the review was favourable, as usual. ):):):)

Audience`s opinions are less. The film is disappointing, too many useless scenes with plastic Natasza Urbańska. The battle lasts only a few minutes, the rest is taken by shallow love story. 3D photography is poor. etc etc.

All in all, the film isn`t tragic, but certainly doesn`t fullfil expectations.
