TRACING MY FATHER - SIEMENTOWSKI.

TRACING MY FATHER
I was born in England to an English mother who had an affair with an American sailor who was known simply as SKI,
It is believed his surname was SIEMENTOWSKI.
He had to return to America before the end of the second world war either in 1944 or 1945 to New Jersey because his wife was dying of cancer.

This information has only recently been told to me by an aged Auntie who kept this secret from me for most of my life.
I would like to trace SKI just to know what sort of person he is or was. He may be now deceased.
Can anyone help?

I checked on ancestry.com and presuming the surname spelling is correct I found this.........the only one that shows up when searched for.

American sailor

If he served during the war as a sailor, there should be military documentation available of those who served in the forces.
Interesting!

That's interesting as the name is really not listed anywhere else that I can see! Very unusual name but I saw this and maybe you can contact this guy and see where it takes you from there? If the name is that unusual then you must somehow be related I would guess?

<you will need to add the www as I cannot do it cos I am posting as a guest>

<halfway down the page in the link above>

"Anthony 100% Polish Kasprzyk here originally from NJ. Father Edmund, Grandmother Jane Siementowski and Grandfather Anthony Kasprzyk. Currently living in FL & missing all of the polish heritage from back in old Jersey."

I then found this guys facebook link as the above link is over a year old>

Good Luck :))

Also just seen this list.........there's quite a few people listed with that surname too on here just need to scroll through the list which and then press on name for further information. Interesting that there are quite a few people with that surname on there too.

<again please put the right info before link above as I cannot post that as a guest>

If you google and try different ways of asking for information you should come up with quite a few more links just sometimes the obvious doesn't always throw up all the information that is available on the net. Like I got that link from googling this guys grandmothers full name and that showed up links which were not visible before.

SIEMIENTOWSKI: Presumably a topo nick from a place called Siemientów or Siemientowo (Simonville?). Quite rare! Only 10 users in today's Poland: 9 living in and around the south Poland town of Częstochowa and 1 in the opposite NE corner of the country in the Suwałki area bordering Lithuania.
