Why is Activia/Danone so popular in Poland ? People drink it like's it's the elixir to eternal youth !

Come to think of it, the only other country I have visited that advertises medicines and health products so vigorously is the United States.

That's huge marketing campains and advertising, but when you check the ingredients - you'll see that it is crap. Tastes bad, can give you runs (quite often actually) and you can buy yoghurt that has more of those bacteria and different species too AND for a much lower price. All in all 3 better yoghurts for one bottle of this shite.

if you wrap 'shite' in fancy silver wrapper, advertise it as if it's the best thing since sliced bread, people will buy it.
It can taste horrible, nasty, give you the runs - but ....at least a person can say..look at me... 'I have Danone for breakfast' . It's all about the 'image'.

Even the people who make it privately admit it doesn't work. But, Poles often like to drink Kefir, yoghurt, soured milk etc., so the market for such products is quite sophisticated - and Poland has endemic hypohondria and is already a big market for useless 'cures'. A snake oil salesman's dream.

There no more benefits to Activia than taking some natural pure yoghurt. I'd goes as far to say it's probably worse due to the "extra" stuff in it. It's the same with that other product and it's advert "There's more germs on you cutting board than on your toilet seat".... then where's the problem then? I don't get sick by sitting on my toilet seat, so therefore your advertisement renders your product useless!! These days more and more people are dying due to the fact that they protect themselves waaaaay too much :/

We have to question conventional wisdom. Look at fluoride. Ask experts and you'll find mixed opinions. A leading figure did a major presentation on its harmful effects. Danone doesn't provide tangible benefits and preys largely on the vulnerable nature of people.

As with most of these business cures.

Absolutely! I'm always on the lookout for cheats and scammers. People are so desperate to make money these days. They know hard times are upon us and will pull all manner of fast ones. A winna let yon fowk teen a len o mi :) :)

drink Kefir, yoghurt, soured milk

yes, these really work. Help digest and keep you away from being sick, as they have all the 'good' bacteria. You can drink it, mix it with cereal, add to some souces etc. What can you do with e.g. orange flavoured Actimel?
