Read PF, but never post?

Why not break your duck and post here.

I would also love for commenters to tell PF not about what they don't like (although they are welcome to, but we can see these comments everyday in threads) but what they like on PF.

What do you like to read? What would you like to see more of? What would you like to see replicated or adapted on the site?

Barney,The thing I like about PF is the diversity and the fact that it has given me a chance to see how Poles and other peoples view their

world.I also like the fact that I'm learning a lot about Poland and it's history and culture and by extension European history.

Fifty guests at the moment you cant all be shy

Edit

Barney,The thing I like about PF is the diversity

I like the unknown, the possibility that someone out there knows much more about a subject than the people posting.

For eg you take time on some post and someone has the ability and knowledge to make you think something else.

Thread title fail.

If you had started a thread entitled "Blonde Polish girl looking for Asian men", you would have had dozens of replies by now.

Thread title fail.

Hope not

A lot of posters started on PF by reading a thread they found on a google search, a topic they were knowledgeable about.

Fail.

It would be better if it was "Blonde 100% Polish Girl looking for Jewish-Asian sponsors" ;)

That's what you should want from anything you participate in. If you read it should be challenging or at the very least entertaining.

I would love guests to post something:)

I'd like to see more of some of the threads like Pawian has put together, such as Poland in photo riddle and food in photo riddle, both are entertaining.

Yes his threads are some of the ones I like, occasionally I try to answer but mostly I find them a good lesson.

I would like Guests to post here perhaps saying why they dont feel like posting. Or regulars could say why they first posted

It means to score more than zero.

As to the topic of this thread, I know several people who read these forums but never post because of the rampant racist that is tolerated here.

Merged: Regarding Barney's thread "Read PF, but never post?"

Hello Barney, your thread titled "Read PF, but never post?" requested the opinions of guest posters about this forum and thus far you've received none, but you shouldn't be surprised or discouraged by this lack of response. Guest posters are not permitted to post on threads in the Faq/Feedback section of the forum. Guests may read that part of the forum but they have to click on the sidebar link for Faq/Feedback to get there, as its threads do not appear on the main page of the forum. So, not only are guests unable to honor your thread's request for their opinions, they are most likely unaware of your thread's existence as well. The moderator that posted on your thread probably should've informed you of the futility of your request for guest posts, but perhaps he is also unaware that guests are forbidden to post there.

Guests are barred from posting in much of the forum. In the ABOUT POLAND section, for example, guests are permitted to post about food, drink, relationships and marriage but barred from posting about news, politics, history, society and culture.

I am posting this under "Food, Drink" which is of course the wrong place for it, but none of the other categories approved for guests to start threads are anymore appropriate. Perhaps a moderator would be so kind as to affix this post to Barney's thread.

As for my opinion about PF. It is an interesting forum, but I wish guests were free to post on all of its threads.

Barney,I was under the impression that you meant members,I wasn't even thinking about guests,My bad,Udo is right, and I forget that guests

are restricted from a lot of the forums.

Guest posters are not permitted to post on threads in the Faq/Feedback section of the forum.

Hi Udo
I didn't know that:(

I wish guests were free to post on all of its threads.

There are some Guest posters who contribute valuable information and they are greatly appreciated but unfortunately unrestricted posting would leave the forums open to abuse so I don't agree with that part.

Edit
p3undone You have enough to be thinking about don't worry.

why is it so hard for Udo and others to register and use the forum freely?

Is their IP number also visible when they post as guests?

If yes, delaying registration is senseless.

Udo and about ten others might not feel good about posting as the they share the same ip. Strangely, it is the same ip as that used by Des Essientes.

pawian, yes, it is... some members post as guests when suspended. just like Udo.

or change their IP address, just like harry and delph.

pain in the ass, in short.

That's not possible, he simply wouldn't use multiple usernames ;)
hehe

why is it so hard for Udo and others to register and use the forum freely?

1. They know they can't be banned unless you block their IP.
2. They know that members can't block them.
3. Which is why so many banned posters return as guests, or why certain full members troll under guest names.

" or change their IP address, just like harry and delph."
I'd like that retracted. If I had wanted to change my IP address, I would have used some of the thousands available via expat-shield. I did not. I don't have much control over my IP address: right now I'm posting on my phone, so now static IP address. I have no idea if the other places I post from have static IP addresses.

To repeat, I'd like PGTX to retract her off-topic lie. And if she won't, I'd like a moderator to remove it. Thank you.

or change their IP address, just like harry and delph.

I've never needed to change - I use about...bah, maybe 5-6 of them on a regular basis?

One from a phone connection (like now), three static IP addresses at home, one possibly dynamic address at work, another two static IP addresses at the place where I volunteer once a week (two connections) and possibly a couple of others too. You'll notice that I use all of them quite frequently - it's no secret.

You're no longer a moderator?

Udo and about ten others might not feel good about posting as the they share the same ip. Strangely, it is the same ip as that used by Des Essientes.

How strange. What's stopping him from using plain old Des?
