Is the Administrator of the P.F. a Native Pole ?

johnny reb 47 | 6,798

I wanted to send a letter asking this question to the administrator but seems he has deleted his mailing address that once was posted here. The one in Chicago.

Also all of a sudden the domain address has gone private since it was mentioned that jon357 was the administrator.
The reason to ask this question is that seems everyone here that gets preference treatment, allowed to post derogrorory remarks towards others without getting a warning, talk down the Polish, promote sin in a Catholic country are all Brit's !

Could that be because the administrator is a Brit. ? (jon357 ?)
My vote would be to turn this forum over to a native Pole, say like a Paulina, who no doubt is an authority on Poland.

No doubt she could educate people on Poland.
To come to a Polish group and have it turned into a Brit. and Muslim counseling session says nothing about Poland.
Reading back I see that this has been brought up several times yet the sinful brainwashing that is allowed in a Catholic country by foreigners sure says nothing for a Polish country of Catholicism.

This is why I doubt very much that the administrator is Polish.
Maybe if the address to the domain owner of this forum in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. was re posted I could have sent a letter to the him instead of posting it.

How about it "A", any problem reposting it ?

johnny reb, jaki masz problem lub pytanie, mozesz pisac po polsku (albo w dwoch wersjach jezykowych). Anyway, the administrator is 100% Polish. We surely welcome posters like Paulina, but at the same time it's not our goal to promote any particular point of view related to Poland; the goal is to discuss Poland from all angles and perspectives. PolishForums' motto is: The Ultimate Guide to Poland (not 'a guide to Poland as perceived by moderatorX, moderatorY, or administrator).

There have recently been some changes which resulted elimination of topics directly unrelated to Poland and Polish people. To avoid moving new topics to the random chat, we may leave ONE broad topic related to, let's say, a particular religion or nation (but the discussion still must be at least indirectly related to Poland); that way visitors who are not interested in the subject don't have to skip through multiple topics.

I'm surprised this question has arrived today; it was asked in the past, starting 9-10 years ago ;). Again, we prefer the most objective and truthful approach, not a propaganda machine. We don't want to be the Fox news or MSNBC news; we prefer the 'golden middle' (złoty środek) in the hopes to get the most comprehensive and objective views on Poland. In retrospective it seems to work well --> because there have been comments suggesting that PF is: 'too against-Poland', 'too pro-Poland.' It's not possible to 100% satisfy everyone though, but those who have different opinions can always post theirs.

So, again, posters with all kinds of views and experiences about Poland are welcome; keep in mind that the forum is in English so by default it attracts posters who are comfortable writing in English rather than Polish.

the goal is to discuss Poland from all angles and perspectives.

So why any critics to the catholic church is more than welcome, even phrases like "Poland are stupids because they are catholics"

While ANYTHING that says ANYTHING about Islam, you warn and ban the person?

PS: Will i get another warning and get banned because of this post?

That isn't a comment on any religion.

asking this question to the administrator but seems he has deleted his mailing address that once was posted here

Ah, I see that it is back up.

Two questions come to mind:
1. What was the reason for deleting the address and then bringing it back again after some, not very long time?
2. Was the previous address the same as is the present one?

There have recently been some changes which resulted elimination of topics directly unrelated to Poland and Polish people.

So why was my thread on Prince Charles of the United Kingdom, the prospective heir to British throne, intending to buy property in Lower Silesia in Poland deleted? Was it a "topic unrelated to Poland and Polish people"? Isn't Lower Silesia part of Poland, but maybe part of the Federal Republic of Germany or the Czech Republic? In that thread I posted at least two photos of the stately homes Prince Charles envisaged to buy. Both were in the hands of Polish institutions. In the discussion that followed British people living in Poland took part as they found the topic quite interesting to them. Why was the thread erased then?

There have recently been some changes which resulted elimination of topics directly unrelated to Poland and Polish people.

There has been no warning or advice to members before erasing the topics allegedly "unrelated to Poland and Polish people". It is a good practice to warn members in advance before taking such action in order to allow them to copy some information which would be useful for them. This hasn't been the case here on the Polish Forum whereas I happened to witness such practice on some other forums.

I think Alex Jones should be told about all this. He is a man who knows all about perfidious Albion, and knows how to debate with the likes of Piers Morgan and Andrew Neil. I see Jon, the evil brain behind this obvious NWO forum, has gone mysteriously quiet of late.

While ANYTHING that says ANYTHING about Islam, you warn and ban the person?

Dozens of posts related to Islam have been removed because they were not related to Poland (and such off-topic discussions will be removed if they appear too). Discussions about other religions will also be removed (unless they are closely related to Poland).

1. What was the reason for deleting the address and then bringing it back again after some, not very long time?

I didn't even relate to this 'question' because it was a flat-out lie (or I'd prefer to think the poster just made a mistake and was confused) that the address was removed and later came back.

So why was my thread on Prince Charles of the United Kingdom, the prospective heir to British throne, intending to buy property in Lower Silesia in Poland deleted?

I see in cache that you created it but not sure why it's not there any more (it turned into discussions about the Royal Family but still it would normally not be deleted). Maybe this particular thread got corrupted (we recovered database a couple of days ago).. If you have a copy of the first message you can send it to me and I'll recreate it (or you can start it again yourself) - I found cache from pages 3 and 4 only but cannot find from the first page.

There has been no warning or advice to members

The indirect warning has always been there; all discussions unrelated to Poland (90% of those are in the off-topic forum) may be deleted at any time. We understand there are posters passionate about many topics unrelated to Poland so we allow them to live (temporarily) in the Off-topic forum, but when they reach the point when they take over other Poland-related discussions we have no choice but to remove them to prevent the domino effect.

Thank you Roger, you just proved my point about the British members.
Your useless post is totally off topic yet it doesn't get moved to the bin or do you get a warning for posting off topic....AGAIN !

Ok, just to make it clear, your two main points have been completely invalid:

2. The address has never been removed / reappeared.

No way in hell :) I'd rather have less to do with this depressing place than more. I waste too much time on here anyway.

No doubt she could educate people on Poland.

In all honesty there's noone to educate here... This forum is quite dead, most of the regular posters (and even those aren't too numerous) are obsessive keyboard warriors. This forum is cliquy, dominated by one quite agressive group - this isn't very inviting. Let's face it - it's mainly an expat forum. This isn't really a place for Poles.

Well, maybe it can be used for practice of one's English, but you have to have the skin of a rhino to be able to write here on regular basis.

And I'm not that gruboskórna ;)

There have recently been some changes which resulted elimination of topics directly unrelated to Poland and Polish people.

What about this thread? polishforums.com/news-4/poles-ban-ritual-slaughter-67104/

Including yourself? I really liked this quote (taken from a web site that tries to explain "why people hate Americans"):

"As for hating the States....as an American in Canada, it's given me the opportunity to see my country from an external point of view. And there's a lot of bad sh*it going on in it. But there are a lot of good things as well."

Get my drift?
Paulina 16 | 4,277
3 Apr 2015 #17
Including yourself?

Well, actually, someone like me who is willing to educate herself benefited lately from someone else's prejudice - I had no idea Poland was the first country in the world to criminalize marital rape! And now I can rub it in the face of every anti-Catholic/anti-Polish jerk out there :)

Get my drift?

Not really. Are you talking about Wulkan?

I agree.

Listen, guys, what are you two talking about? How would this forum be "turned over" to me? This forum is someone's private endeavour (Admin's), I imagine that he set it up and he runs it. I've had my own forum before and there's no way I would be wasting my time like that again. I have other hobbies now, even if for some strange reason someone would like to make me an administrator of this forum. And I wouldn't like to be a moderator here either.

You can always make another forum, that's exactly what I and another Pole did - because we wanted to create an alternative to one nasty forum. But running a forum takes some time and devotion. And you can get bored after a while.

There's also this second forum - All Things Polish, you can check it out, I don't know about any other forums like this one.
TheOther 6 | 3,674
3 Apr 2015 #18
Not really.

No matter where, a local has almost always a much more idealistic and positive view of his/her country than an expat/ foreigner. I strongly believe that it takes physical distance to see what's really going on at home (like the "...as an American in Canada, it's given me the opportunity to see my country from an external point of view." above). You should try it one day. Perhaps you will then understand that stuff like this...

anti-Catholic/anti-Polish

only happens in your head, Paulina. And I mean that in the nicest way possible!

Obviously you do after all the posters you don't personally agree with are suspended ;). You can 'get bored' or frustrated only after you realize that your personal views are not always shared by other people. We are never bored here because we have learned that there is no 'established truth / authority / opinion.'

It's understandable that some people who agree with your views would want to make you a moderator or an administrator -- but only because they would hope that you would silence the 'dissidents' who happen to have different opinions. Then, after some time when there are only those you agree with left, you get bored because you're not really interested in what they say.

Exactly the same that happens here?

Everything that doesn't go with the agenda "Bash Catholic church / Defend Multiculturalism / Left-Wing Agenda" that the Admins here defend is also deleted and the users are also banned.

It is almost a miracle that i was not banned yet.

By the way, why the thread about how safe Poland is was closed?? Just because some people think that Poland is safe because there are a relatively homogeneous religious profile?

It's easy to talk in generalities; it's even easier to ask a question and reply to it inserting your own 'agenda.' As long as you post on-topic (ie. in relation to Poland and Polish people), you are free to present your opinion, even an extreme one. The topic 'Safe Poland' topic was reopened (but will be closed again when trolls try to take it over with off-topic or abusive messages).

"It's easy to talk in generalities"
Whether it is or not is a matter of debate, but clearly a matter which is outside the topic of this thread.

Should people who wish to discuss that topic start a new thread here or in smother forum here?

#1 Thank you as who would have known.

Do you know any native British person born to British parents who would give him Tomasz or Bartłomiej name? I personally don't (and your point was that I was British). So, anyone who knows the Polish alphabet would have known.

Just because you use some outdated or buggy WHOIS tools doesn't mean you are right. This one is probably the most popular one, nothing has been changed there in the last several years: whois.domaintools.com/polishforums.com.

Whether it is or not is a matter of debate, but clearly a matter which is outside the topic of this thread.

"Do you know any native British person born to British parents who would give him Tomasz"
I'd comment about a Pole who gave me the name Harry, but that would be off-topic and thus deserving of the ban that homophobic and racist abuse clearly does not draw here (provided it's the 'right' homophobic/racist abuse), eh Tomasz?

Not clear at all as I disagree and I will tell you why.

Do you know any native British person born to British parents who would give him Tomasz or Bartłomiej name?

Nope, and I don't know any that gave their kid the name jon357 either.

I personally don't (and your point was that I was British).

So who besides you says you're not ?
I mean hell Tom, internet is reality right ? I could say my real name is Alfred E. Newman. (google that one kids)
Do you know any native Polish person that would give their kid that name ?
Your point is pointless.

So, anyone who knows the Polish alphabet would have known.

Sorry Tommy, I can't pound my chest for knowing that one either.

nothing has been changed there in the last several years

You are wrong Tom and I will tell you why.
Several months ago I contacted Pam and ask her why a Polish Forum was being run out of Chicago Illinois just north of O'Hara International.

Part of that information came from

some outdated or buggy WHOIS tools

that showed the address.
She told you and you posted that information in a thread in the next day or two.
When I went back there to that old outdated buggy that information had gone private as I have shown here.
Got it !

I offered you to talk to me in Polish; let other native Poles decide if my Polish is native or not ;). Rozumiesz?

Sorry Tommy, I can't pound my chest for knowing that one either.

It may be in your clique or culture to use euphemism, but I'm not used to it and I'm not easily befriended, sorry.

Sorry to say, but you are still clueless when it comes to comprehension of simple facts. The WHOIS info has never been anonymized; it hasn't been changed for several years. Besides, even if it was changed (but it hasn't) - what would it mean? It would prove your imaginary and false point? Some websites change it several times a year to prevent spam. And I don't even have time to check the profile of jon357, I'm not the Sherlocky Holmes of the Internet.

By the way, why the thread about how safe Poland is was closed??

Can you not see the red message in the last post "Thread closed for cleaning"? Thanks to Harry and Paulina (who have no respect for other members threads) having another one of their personal battles, the thread went off topic and needs to be cleaned. Some of the posts have been removed, but there is still some more tiding up to be done before it is reopened. It is not top priority at the moment, but should be reopened later on today.

It is almost a miracle that i was not banned yet.

I agree it is close to being a miracle! However the net must be closing in around you because of your racist comments, and I don't think you will have many chances left, to be honest.

No you didn't. What you asked me was " Does the administrator of the PF live in Poland?"
To which I replied, " US as far as I know "
You then went on to say that you went looking for the source of the PF and you had pinpointed it to a few miles north of Chicago O' Hare airport.

To which I replied," You know more than I do then ".

She told you and you posted that information in a thread in the next day or two.

I didn't do that either.

Can I ask how that comment is even remotely on topic in a thread titled "Is the Administrator of the P.F. a Native Pole ?"

Whether the administrator is a native of Poland, Holland or Lapland, he needs to have moderators who respect his rules.
