thegreatape - | 6 30 May 2010 #8Hi Terry,Are you still in Wrocek? I tried to send a message to your number above but no joy. There is the beginning of a small group in the city, needs someone like yourself though :)I'm on 691534602T
thegreatape - | 6 17 Jun 2010 #10Here are the details of the new meeting:WROCLAW SATURDAY 11.00INSIDE JOB - ENGLISH SPEAKING GROUPBig Book StudyStowarzysznie MOST, Komuny Paryskiej 17, lok. 1, WrocławContact: 48 (0)691.534.602,E-mail: insidejob_aa@yahoo
lowfunk99 10 | 397 17 Jun 2010 #11Was this meeting going 2 years ago? It would have been nice to hit a meeting when I was doing my CELTA.
thegreatape - | 6 17 Jun 2010 #12No, we just started a few weeks ago :)There was a meeting here a few years ago but it hasn't been running for a long time, or so we have been told.
thegreatape - | 6 29 Jun 2010 #14Bummer indeed that the other meeting stopped. But there is now a new one, as I posted above, so all is not lost. Anyone wants to come along is more than welcome... :)
LeeHughes 6 | 15 8 Jul 2010 #15ever tried weed? i know an ex drunk who turned to his sweet-tooth and weed to curb his alcohol abstinens...
thegreatape - | 6 16 Jul 2010 #17There are plenty of ways to get sober without AA but personally I don't know too many people who have been successful substituting one addiction for another. In fact, I don't know any. But I do know plenty of people who ended up as both alcoholics and addicts...Are you coming back to Wroclaw 'lowfunk'? If so, the meeting here is getting pretty stable now. It's a nice atmosphere and a healthy meeting. However, we cannot get our hands on any English AA literature; so if you are coming from abroad and intend to meet up with us, we'd be really grateful for a book or two! ;)
lowfunk99 10 | 397 16 Jul 2010 #18Unless someone offers me a job I will not be coming back. It has gotten to difficult for schools to hire non-EU.Like we say in NA, alcohol is a drug. :-)
thegreatape - | 6 16 Jul 2010 #19well, you know, if you contact us on insidejob_aa@yahoo there is a non-EU guy in our group who may have a few ideas and some others with language school contacts... if you want to chat about it any time, maybe on our e-mail is a good place as I don't want to throw this thread off topic :)
wroclawaa 22 Sep 2012 #20*****CHANGE OF MEETING PLACE IN WROC£AW:We are now meeting at:pl Świętego Macieja 5, WrocławSaturdays at 11amWe also have a Wednesday meeting but it is not regular, so call in advance.
InWroclaw 89 | 1,914 22 Sep 2012 #21Useful to know, I didn't know there was one. I should think being in a new city and country away from home, alcohol can become an escape and then can become a problem. It's impressive to discover that there's a support group in Wrocław for it.Map for anyone who needs itmaps.google.com/maps?oe=UTF-8&q=pl+%C5%9Awi%C4%99tego+Macieja+5,+Wroc%C5%82aw&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x470fe9dd021b0cd1:0x58633080573fba27,Plac+%C5%9Bwi%C4%99tego+Macieja+5,+Wroc%C5%82aw,+Poland&ei=fdxdUMibIoyDhQfK6IHoBg&ved=0CCAQ8gEwAA(if you have a paper map, it may be indexed as plac sw.Macieja)My old map suggests the 144 bus goes there, and trams 7, 21, 31, 40. Nearby are buses C (Express, not standard ticket) and the 128.Not to be confused with: starter24.pl/index.html :o)
