By Polish, do you mean specifically Polish speaking or are you looking for a Polish national?

Jon357 As we were talking about unemployment yesterday it just goes to show that there are plenty in the UK, especially when a UK business is looking for people in Poland.. Looks like a good opportunity are you thinking of applying?

I don't think they're looking in Poland. Interesting that they want a Polish worker and don't mention any exceptions under the Equal Opportunities Act relating to language or culture of their service users.

Anyway, screenshotted for forwarding to the relevant public authority.

oh for goodness sake Jon, does it matter that much?
This is obviously a Polish company who wants Polish workers.
I cannot get that riled up about it to be honest.

I think it does. After all, if a company advertised for English only, men only, no blacks, no Irish, no whatever, it would be an issue. The law to allow access to the labour market regardless of nationality was something that ordinary people fought long and hard for.

They may have an exemption under the law (care services often do if they require, say, a male carer, or one with particular experience of a culture, however in that case they're required to mention the specific exemption in the advert.

To be honest 'Polish' is only in title of this thread. I assume that they look for someone who speaks English I doubt they pay much plus hours are not very sociable and work probably hard. I don't see crowd of English queuing for this job. With sure not all these work-shy on benefits.

I think it is also advertised in UK and they struggle to find someone so nothing offensive.....

If it was written in Polish and directed only to Polish it would be different matter.

yes that is offensive. English are not 'work shy', thank you.
Just cannot afford to do such low paid work and have no wish to be exploited.
You know very well why this organisation is recruiting only Polish women (and it will be women) is so that they can be exploited and underpaid.

The only people who could do such a low paid job are those living five to a room.

low paid job- They don't pay below minimum wages as it is illegal so who is exploited?.

Please, don't twist my words I said 'these work-shy on benefits' I did not say English are lazy.- I understand in your opinion it is better to do nothing and moan, moan moan instead of doing some job? Any job start somewhere, them move on. NO on minimum wages you can rent room for yourself ( don't say about London).

It's not owned by Poles but Nigerians. I guess they want to exploit Polish or eastern European workers.

Even black Londoners know it's bad, that why they're advertising here.

Avoid !!

oh now you know about my opinions do you? I see.
I am not 'moaning' just pointing out that this job is looking for women to exploit. It might even be a front for prostitution, and Londoners are smart enough to see that. You too could be smart one day if you keep working on it, instead of being rude and insulting.

Maybe, I never did this kind of job but no doubts it is hard. Again if someone from Poland ( EU) who speaks English decides to do this job and does not like it she/he can always go back. It is not prison.

just pointing out that this job is looking for women to exploit. It might even be a front for prostitution, and Londoners are smart enough to know that.

I am not sure why you are so angry.

Maybe they are dodgy or .....maybe they just struggle with staff. I don't know but I don't assume things if I don't know.

I am not sure why you are so angry.

actually Iwanka you have p.issed me off with your comments.
You have said that English are too lazy to work and then tried to wriggle out of it.
It is not about 'assumptions' but reading between the lines.
Pointing that out is not 'moan moan moan'.

No, you made it up. I did not wriggle out of anything and you are very good at twisting things- what I said was ' work shy on benefits will not go to do this job'- and as a matter of fact it does not matter if it was English, German, French... whatever. Some people will not do it. That is just how it is.

And most people with families will not do it either as hours are awful that is why I said that English will not queue for it..

And you start going on my nerves too with this twisting and some odd oversensitiveness. Time to finish this discussion:-(

There's lots of polish people in London who don't speak English so it might be to look after them????

I am so let down by some of the comments on this site, we are small company and we been doing okay for the past two years but short of carers and my daughter best friend suggest to promote on this site.

I believe in multicultural but to say we are exploit or using women for prostitution this is too powerful words.
We are sorry thinking this site can help our company.

very good Iwanka, nice bit of backtracking.
If I am "oversensitive" it is because of people like you and their endless silly comments.
No I do not think it better to 'moan moan moan' than work. Thank you.
