Husband moving to Australia after separation

Hi All,

I have a bit of an unusual request...

My husband and I have been married for nearly 10 years now, but had separated for 18 months. I moved to Australia (citizen) when we parted, for a fresh start, but returned to visit good old Poland about 6 months ago. Hubby and I decided we want it to give it another go, so him moving over here is logical because that was the plan before we separated anyway.

The question is, how can this separation impact on his chances of getting a spouse visa? It's not like we can hide it... I have been registered as living here for 2 years without him, I never registered our marriage, and there had been little correspondence to even try and say that we were doing it long distance.

Any advise?

Thanks in advance.

Just say you never thought it was important to register your marriage in Australia. I doubt they know where you both were for those years.

Does that mean it's easier to get him over here than I thought? The process looks quite long and complicated, with what I have read about the proof you need to provide and so on... Maybe there is someone here who has moved their Polish spouse over? I'm just reading now, and honestly don't know where to start...

You've been married for nearly 10 years.I don't think it will be too difficult.
