2000 zloty in Katowice as a teacher - worth moving there?

While I agree with what Dominic says you can still find places where money is good. The only thing is that you'll be living in sh!te towns/cities like Chorzow, Ruda Slask etc. etc.

If you want to make money as a native speaker, pick a small city/town, somewhere that isn't going to have native speakers. You'll be the only dog in town and you'll clean up. You'll also have your pick of the women coz they'll be all over you. But unless you're willing to work from 7am-10am and then from 4pm-9pm 5 days a week you're not going to make much money.

And trust me, working those hours, 5 days a week, will drive you round the bend.

If I were in Depeche's position, I'd go to a smallish city, e.g. Białystok, and be a big fish in a small pond. You'll find lots of schools but very little competition. Also, the business sector is where the money is now. Just a couple of days ago a local firm contacted me (I don't advertise) and asked me to put together a course. Get your name known around town and the work will come to you. Avoid contracts with split shifts unless you like feeling like a zombie. I'd register a company and keep my options wide open if I were you. Private schools will rip you off if they can (with just a few honourable exceptions), so put yourself in a position where you can dictate terms. You'll need a bankroll, though. This won't happen overnight.
