dawnbuckley 1 | - 28 Aug 2011 / #1Hi,I'm an English Teacher going to work in Koszalin soon and I'm REALLY nervous as it seems kind of small and I'm worried that I will be bored and lonely! Does anyone have any experience of the place? Or know anyone there?I'd really appreciate any information at all! Thanks!Dawn
peter_olsztyn 6 | 1082 28 Aug 2011 / #3it seems kind of smalltrue but one of the famous Polish resort Mielno is only 10km from Koszalin. In the summer it attracts people from the whole country.
scottie1113 6 | 896 28 Aug 2011 / #6When will you arrive in Poland, and via what route? I have no personal knowledge of Koszalin, but a student of mine is from there and she sings nothing but praises for it. If you have any questions before your arrival, feel free to pm me.
PWEI 3 | 612 28 Aug 2011 / #7My girlfriend (of the last five years) is from the next town along the coast from Koszalin, let me know if you need any help.

poland_ 31 Aug 2011 / #9Does anyone have any experience of the place? Or know anyone there? You need to speak to " wildrover " I have been through Koszalin on a couple of occasions, plenty of road works, as someone pointed out it is close to Mielno. If you are into water sports windsurfing , kite surfing they have quite a large inland lake.
aphrodisiac 11 | 2427 31 Aug 2011 / #10just check Wiki, although I know the city quite well, but have not been there for the last 10 years.Mielno train ride - 15 minutes every hour.Koszalin is on the train route to the Tri - City, around 3 hour ride.Overall not too small and not too big, perfect I would think since he commuting to work should not be a problem. As for entertainment I am sure there are some pubs and galleries, there is a theatre (if you are into that),lots of greenery, parks it depends what you are into. You will get to know people. What about the school you are going to work? I am sure they will give you some assistance:) and a tour.Good luck:)

Doctorzhivago1 11 Aug 2014 / #12Merged: Does anyone have any experience of living/working in Koszalin?Dzień Dobry :-)Does anyone have any experience of living/working in Koszalin?I'm from England, and will be moving to the city in October to teach English at the university. I lived in Krakow for one year, but found it too touristy, polluted, and wanted a change - though I made Polish friends. I speak a little Polish (A1+) and plan to have more lessons when I arrive to improve it. I know that there isn't much of a British expat community (around 15 people) - but for me this is part of the attraction.Dziękuję bardzo!
