You know if I say something here I will be blamed to be very rude or very "ultra liberal multi culti" or something like that!

How come alot of my friends who come from abroad (countries with not so much money) do so well in Poland? They earn well, and soon buy good cars and flat!!!!!

I haven't done too badly either...

Maybe you need to find that "right job" for you? ... No to mention the need to try your luck in some form of alternative source of income. Even try your luck in businesses...

i dont know youre lying? virtually every Pole i know in Poland that doesnt live with his/her parents struggles like hell.

No to mention the need to try your luck in some form of alternative source of income. Even try your luck in businesses...

Try your luck! its not a frigging poker game mate. There isnt any luck in business only timing and the right qualities.

Maybe you need to find that "right job" for you?

Unfortunately right jobs dont usually pay more than 4000 PLN netto. So its back to the crap job and send the wife out to work as well in her crappy job.

Not true. Why don't try in the stock market and with imports of cheap commodities with good quality for consumption in Poland and other neighboring countries where we can have access?

I once had a thread on the stock market here. I've done well in it, and my friend who is a foreigner taught me a few tricks. He came and did well and now owns his own flat ... doesn't live with his family who is thousands of miles away in their own country.

There are the right businesses. You just have to know how to do it.

Unfortunately right jobs dont usually pay more than 4000 PLN netto

There are jobs which do. By the way, people with limited education should definitely think of earning through business.

The friend I am talking about in here is a close friend who lives in Poland now. There was infact yet another thread (in relationships section) where I wrote two stories of Polish couples and mix couples, there I wrote his story too.

Did wonderfully well. So why not anyone else atleast TRY???? I don't know why it has to be classified as "impossible" ... specially when someone has been able to do it.

what do you think people are doing? not trying?

I don't know why it has to be classified as "impossible" ... specially when someone has been able to do it.

its not impossible and everybody knows somebody, fact is there isnt nowhere near as many opportunities in Poland so more will not make it. Basic economics.

Why would millions leave the country otherwise?

The stock market is nothing more than well informed gambling, there are winners and losers.

In general without family connections you don't get too far.

Oh yes. It's one thing about Poland - you can save a hell of a lot of money by simply knowing the right person from the right place

Of course, lots of people in Poland achieve what they achieve not because of their skills and qualifications, but because of their connections. This is called cronyism. Its not a virtuous thing.

Secendly, Poles can live cheaply because they know where to buy things cheaply. We can make a living mainly due to cheap goods from China.

Thirdly, some Poles sometimes make money hand over fist, because they have got the connections. That is they are on friendly terms with wójt, sołtys, state agencies or mayors or the like. They buy agricultural land from the commune or municipality cheaply, then it turns out that a road is going to be built next to there plot and then their plots become building land, then they sell it and become rich.

If you want to make real money in Poland, you have to have either the connections, or medicine studies diploma. Having yyour own business is also an option, but it is less lucrative.

Because they cannot make money other than pulling carts.

not trying?

Not trying properly. You cannot try to push the stone, you must realize which lever you need to use.

he stock market is nothing more than well informed gambling, there are winners and losers.

No ... its investment. There are mathematics involved. It is gambling when you are totally blind.

In general without family connections you don't get too far.

Your kind of people.

You the Pole tell the English how the stockmarket is when they have it for more than 300 years?

What is your problem? We have intelligence too, what do you think?

We don't need the English to make us understand such things. We can do ourselves. I am only giving my opinion on this issue. I am the only Pole it seems in this thread. Its very strange how all of you sit together and discuss about Poland as though you are Polish and have graduated on Polish studies!

Its gambling mate, well informed gambling i know many stock brokers some in extremely high positions. The kind of people indirectly and partly responsible for global recessions.

You cannot try to push the stone, you must realize which lever you need to use.

Youre so full of it, every negative issue Poland seems to have you have all the answers, it never happens to you.

We don't need the English to make us understand such things. We can do ourselves.

Of course is it possible to live with that, and with less, but the start is going to be quite hard. The question is whether is it worth it or not Yannick. I was also quite surprised after I was rejected from an HP job offer recruitment process because of my high salary expectations. They asked me and I said I did not care at first, but since they insisted I said around the equivalent to 700€ brutto... Anyway, I would not accept this salary and would encourage polish ppl not to accept just anything. These companies will not move from Wroclaw if you all still ask for a bit of more decent money

$662 per month * 12 months = $7 944 a year

Glad to be an American...whew. No offense.

You the Pole tell the English how the stockmarket is when they have it for more than 300 years?

What are you trying to say Turk? There is plenty of English and Americans who have no idea what a stock market is.Not to mention Turks.Besides I can bet WB is not 300y/o.

..quite a few do not.

This is what I am saying and I don't mean to bash nor offend Americans,I just don't like HIS attitude. That's all.

Normally it should be around 2500 PLN a month net but If they need a French and/or Greek speaker badly (I doubt it in case of French alone) It can be more.

The best example you have totally no clue about the reality in Poland, TOTALLY, as I said in another thread, you people should get out more often.

that would be 2500 net???

Yes, If you share a flat with someone else, you can have a relatively normal life for that but without saving or any luxury of course, If wages had been fine here, 5 trillion Poles would have not worked in the UK and elsewhere.

Very true. Your estimation is correct.

Well as Greeks do, thats normal. Now here we cant even afford the 500 euros wage they are imposing us... But im afraid that 2100 wouldnt be enough for rent... I know groceries would be fine you are so much cheaper than Greece but i know rent is so expensive everywhere!!!

But im afraid that 2100 wouldnt be enough for rent...

Not to live on your own for sure, but If you live with one more person it's doable, besides I don't think it's 2100, at least not forever, after 3-6 months it should go up by 10-15%, generally for 2500 you can have a modest but relatively normal life here If you share a 2 room flat with another person... If the salary turns out to be not totally terrible, I think you should take it, with nearly 60% youth unemployment rate in Greece, there will rather not be good opportunities there for a few more years I'm afraid...

thanks everybody you have been very nice!
I am waiting for the offer today... Stressed!!!
I am so eager to start working again i am unemplyed for 2 yrs now.Just that i want to survive there not asking my mum for money(again!!!)

I know we will all get through this(i mean the crisis and everything) we should be strong and optimist!
Take care!

TOTALLY, as I said in another thread, you people should get out more often.

There's got to be a reason why you're so mean to people. Were you not given a hug as a child?

Best of luck with the job OP, but if they offer you less than 4500, tell them to shove it.
