Hello Everyone,

This forum has been a great help to me and I am sure for others too.
This forum is a great source of information about Poland.

I will be travelling to Krakow on 14th of June 2014 with my wife.
We will get initial accommodation of 7 days in a hotel then will be finding an apartment.
We will be shifting to an apartment from 21st June.
We will be looking for an apartment within radius of 2 kms from Quattro Business Park in Pradnik Czerwony.
We have been doing research on rental and I reckon, we could manage to get an apartment for 2000-2200 including admin + utilities. What do you experts say ?

Advance for rental, should I assume approx 2 k ?

Also how much cash do we need to survive until I get my first pay?
This should include breakfast and 2 meals for two in remaining 18 days of June.
Should I assume another 2 k ?

Any suggestion is welcome.

Thanks in Advance!

You don't write what apartment you need. Rent room/flat through airbnb instead of hotel, so you don't have to be stressed that week is finishing and you still don't have an apartment.

Hi Monitor,

Thanks for your quick reply.

You don't write what apartment you need.

Initial 7 days booking is already done by my future company.
I would be looking for 1 bedroom apartment for a long term after 21st June.

1 bedroom apartment

In Poland we talk in terms of square meters or rooms. But I see some 3 rooms apartments here: dom.gratka.pl/mieszkania/krakow/pradnik-czerwony/wynajem/ for less than 2000, so with czynsz and utilities you should be easily able to find 2 rooms apartment for less than 2200.

hmmm...
Thanks for the link Monitor. Rent looks decent in the website.
We will look for something around 50 - 60 M square.
After having a look to the site, I think we will be good with estimate of 2000-2200.

Also how much cash do we need to survive until I get my first pay?

Any suggestion here?

In Bar mleczny you can buy lunch starting from 3eur, so add another 3eur for breakfast and supper. That makes 6eur per person per day as min. Make it 12eur to be more comfortable

12eur per day * 2 people * 18 = 432 eur = 1800 pln for food.

Also tip about apartments. If the price doesn't include czynsz then calculate extra fees to be around 1/3 of the advertised price.

Looks fair and according to our estimate.

Thanks Monitor!
