I will be moving to Warsaw in September (2010) with My Girlfriends job. I am a CELTA certified Native English teacher with over 2 years experience. I am presently teaching Business and conversational English with a school in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Can anyone offer advice about schools? For example, what schools have good/bad reputaions and why?
I am also interested in any information about life in general, Does and dont's, Expat communities and so on.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Hello MikeSmith,

And welcome to the Polish forums.

If you use the search box in the top right of this page a search key words, you will find a lot of information. For example: search for teach Poland.

How was Bratislava? I live in southern Poland, near enough to the Slovakian boarder, I have not been to Bratislava yet but other places.
I heard it's not a good place to go, is that true?

Anyway best of luck on your move.

Thanks for your info. Sean BM.
As far as Bratislava goes... It is not a tourist city like prague budapest or Vienna, But like anywhere it has its charms. They are just not as apparent as the other cities.

Do you have any salable qualifications or skills? If not, then the best you will do is cold-call sales or low-level collections at a call center, lousy jobs for lousy pay, especially in an expensive city like Warsaw.
