Young dutch graduate (social sciences at university level) - job prospects in Poland?

I'm a young dutch graduate, specialized in the social sciences at university level. I speak dutch, english and german. Does any one know if there are good job prospects in Poland? I am willingly to learn Polish :)

Pretty well true. That or language teaching, depending on the city. Anything else needs excellent Polish.

Do you know what kind of salary prospects a job in a callcenter has? Maybe I can work in a callcenter, learn polish, and then look for a better job.


I am looking for professional experience. Something like finances or IT, but it would depend on the employer to invest in training.


Warsaw, Krakow or Wroclaw seems good to me. I have been there before, and I liked it very much

BPO's typically pay around 3000 net for native speakers on entry / mid-entry positions. Check out Infosys, CapGemini, Nordea....Knowledge of Polish not required.

No. But I don't know much about the polish labour market. Here in the Netherlands it is more important to have a university degree, then you can apply for a job that is not in your field, and the employer will give training. But now at the moment, as currentle a lot people are unemployed, and employers can find the right people for a low price. But I don't know how the situation is in Poland, I've heard Poland is doing well economically

I think that there is bigger demand for native Dutch call center stuff in IT support than supply, but I don't know how easy it is to convince employer to teach somebody who has no idea about the topic. Take a look at this topic: https://polishforums.com/work/poland-dutch-speaker-native-experienced-66878/ I think that somebody on this forum was writing that is working with native dutch speakers in IT support.

Tip: It sounds you did not do any research about the costs to live in Poland. Please do first research before thinking about your salary. Even from 3K netto you can life if you plan everything ok. 6K netto is for a entry/mid really the maximum what you can expect for a native speaker. I am Dutch too, and believe me you have to find the right company for a good, decent salary.

So it seams to me after research that prices in Poland are 50% of the prices in the Netherlands. So 3000 PLN would then be equal to 1500 euro. 1500 euro in the Netherlands is an okay salary :)

Depend prices of what. Internationally traded stuff like benzine, electronics, clothes, cars cost the same. The biggest difference is in rent price, pubs, public transport and services (hair dresses, car mechanic).

Learning Polish well can only increase your chances at getting a decent job at a decent salary:-)
Don't expect however for a Polish equivalent/competitive salary to be the same as a Dutch salary for the same higher level, that is, academic or managerial type work!

No.. I expect it to be half of a dutch salary. I also wonder if there are differences in cities in their need of dutch employees. I've heard Krakow is the best place to begin looking.

About that I coudn't say exactly. I do know though for a fact that Dutch engineers particularly are often in high demand throughout the continent, Venice, Italy for instance. A Dutch firm was called in a number of years back to help in raising the sea-level of the city. As Holland has centuries of experience constructing dykes etc.. ("Dike" even a Dutch word originally!), they were thought to be the most skilled workmen for the job.
