I guess you'll have to look up the answer in some kind of legal forum:/

It's transferable, as is the tacho card.

Whats the point in tacho metres in Poland anyway? Theres so many places on the way to the border that offer "Tacho adjustment services" it seems a bit pointless.

The new digital ones are next to impossible to fiddle, because there's quite a compehensive audit log with them. The law now is that you can be busted in any EU state for tacho offences, even if they were committed outside of the country where you're stopped. For example, if you disabled the limiter and went at 100km/h constantly on Polish roads in the truck - you get stopped by the Germans and bang, that's you in trouble.

Part of it involves having to set the machine every time you cross a border, so if (for instance) you were doing 90km/h constantly on the road between Swiecko and Nowy Tomysl, yet the limit for trucks is 80km/h - you can get busted by the police anywhere. The UK does quite a bit of this, but stupidly doesn't issue on the spot fines!

Of course you can British hgv drivers are the most highly trained drivers in the world, look at how many driving tests you have to take to get there. The Polish apparently drive a transit size van with a trailer round an obstacle course to get there licence. But, can we go over to Poland and do the same there?

How stupid your comments are re getting the HGV in Poland not sure where you get your information, my Polish friend took his test twice with a full size truck and full size trailer which had been loaded, he passed the 2nd time and now works through out the EU.

As for EU driving licenses they are usable throughout the EU and one does not need to change them however if you reside in a particular EU country then you will eventually have to change it to the that country, strange but naturally all countries use a points system hence why you need the particular countries driving license, I live in Poland but have at the moment a Uk one yet own a polish plated car.

Hi, Does anyone know if there is an HGV school in Poland that offers the course in English?
I don't really want to go to UK to do the training.
