Tax saving options in Poland

Thanks jon357 for answering my previous question on salary. You said that I may have to pay high taxes. Are there any avenues to save taxes in Poland?

Lots especially in terms of small tax deductible expenses, gifts to family members, etc. You do need a specialist tax adviser - and a good one, since the goalposts are always shifting and loopholes being closed. Any information from me on deductibles and tax breaks is likely to be out of date. I would suggest you keep any existing savings or investments in a jurisdiction that does not disclose anything to the Polish tax office.

Surely if everyone pays tax on what is due (although ZUS which kicks in from day 1 for a new business and stifles enterprise for that very reason needs an overhaul big time) then we are giving PL (and our own future) a better chance of improving? Better roads, better everything. Surely tax receipts put to use to improve the country (instead of subsidising foreign firms' tax bills needlessly) becomes a virtuous circle in a country such as this which is pretty much still finding its feet? Am I naïve? I like to think not if tax receipt spending oversight is diligent.

That's important. Paying on what is due. It doesn't rule out claiming allowances to which you are legally entitled. Not claiming those would be paying more than is due.
