What a strange choice of country to choose to study
Two points.
First, there is a Europe wide trend to try to monetize their higher educational system (which means attracting paying Asian students who think they can study in English).
Second, I think there are recruiters who oversell the ease of getting into the UK from Poland.
Hi maf, 2 good points. Maybe you can help with more. How does it work here in Poland for an overseas student, for example, do they simply apply, get an answer yes/no, If yes just pay before they start their degree or is there some sort of process to sift out the wheat from the chaff. , also, if their degree is say 3 or 4 years do they pay the full fees upfront or do they pay before the start of each year?

I'm fairly sure there are some private diploma mills up and running but have no hard proof. State universities are better but most are really not prepared to teach in English (no reason they should be, their mission is to prepare students to live in Poland.

Most of the tutors are pushing to be offered courses which are taught in English even though most of them cannot speak English for 5 minutes without committing grammatical error.
Moreover, majority of our classmates are Polish, guess you want to know why? There are more study materials in English than there will ever be in Polish. Not a bad choice, huh? Next time you want to express your opinion regarding a topic, I will suggest you do a little research.

The "push' here is coming from administration, not so much from faculty.

They've fallen under the allure of an imperial language and imbibed a toxic ideology about its superiority?

So? a good teacher can overcome a lot of bad teaching materials, a bad teacher is not helped by great teaching materials. Learning (effective learnig for most people) requires contact with a human being.
I've heard wonderfully eloquent and effective teachers (in Polish) who operate at about 50% when they use English.
The single possible exception to the rule (education in Poland is a lot better in Polish than in English) are computer related fields at higher levels.

Yeah! that is why the teachers are squeezing some time out of their busy schedules just to attend private English courses. Are you telling me they are not at liberty to turn down those proposals made by the administration?

Unless you're telling me you haven't also fallen for that. LOL

Is true though........ is just sad that they have accepted an offer they know they can't truely and genuinely deliver.

I can't find it anymore, but there was a situation (before Maidan) where African students were being told that Ukraine was in the EU and that they would get an automatic work permit for any EU country after graduating from a Ukrainian university.

Hi! I secured admission in Warsaw school of Economics and so am planning to come to Poland. I will be staying in university hostel. Please tell me are students able to pay for their day to day expenses like residence, food and transport through part time jobs?
If a student can find a part-time job then he may beable to pay for his living expenses. In order to find a job, you must speak Polish to a standard that you can converse with other Polish people.
There are jobs in 'service industries', where Polish language may not be required, but other skills will be. You need to search, find vacancies and apply to places in order to establish whether there is any chance of you working for anyone.
Hey rbhoom You can go through the earlier posts as some fellas have answered this question really well. What I have learnt from this forum is that the probability of gettong a job depends on multiple factors. Like which city you are living in. Whether or not you can communicate in polish, what type of jobs you are interested in, either part time or full time etc
hi sir, i am kishore reddy i planned to study in poland for M.Sc in Agriculture there is any part time assistance for me or not sir Basically i am coming from in india. Please reply me to bankakishorereddy@gmail
To all those asking if there are chances of getting part time jobs to fund your studies. 1. Firstly, you need money to pay for your accommodation/food/living expenses. 2. In order to get any job you MUST have skills. These can be soft skills - and they maybe you can work in shared services (search on the web for employers) or the ability to converse and read and write in Polish.
3. Please remember that if you are from a non-white background the possibility of you getting a job are VERY limited. You have to show what you can offer over and above all other Polish people trying to get the same jobs.
4. Do your searches for jobs and line up interviews beforehand - do not think that somehow, by a miracle a job will just fall into your lap. This will not happen.
5. Remember that prospective University students or those who have finished their studies are searching for the same jobs.
hi,have been accepted to pursue M.A. in international business at University of Economy in Bydgoszcz. Please i want to find out if its a good school and also if there are any part time jobs that i can do.Am african and i speak good english
I've been selected to join Kozminski University for a Master's in Management programme. I do realise there's been a lot of discussion about Indians finding it nearly impossible to find a part time or even a full time job.
However, I would still like to ask if in case there is a possibility for me to find a decent job after finishing my 2 year course.
I used to be an Emirates cabin crew for 9 years. Do not speak polish at the moment. Willing to strive hard to learn it though. I do love Poland and the polish folks a lot, which is the reason Id like to settle down there. Do have an offer to study in New Zealand, but don't quite fancy the kiwis coz of their culture , n moreover, its too far from India and dubai.
Would love your views comments pertaining to my case in specific.
Excuse me for typing "Czesc" wrong... Are you polish though? Being polish Id say you should have assumed what I was trying to say "at the beginning of my message". But, still, excuse me for my faux pas.
Also, long way in front of you means what??? Your reply's a bit ambigous and vague... Again, excuse me for sayin that. But, that's how I can percieve it.
Still, appreciate your effort in trying to help me!
Hello, any one can guide me to find job in Poland. M at India presently. I have experience in purchase, import more than 9 years. Kindly advice process.
