How does the process of switching positions within the same company in Poland affect the work permit?

Hello,

I work entry level in this one company under a work permit , and I might be moving to another position sooner than expected.
Im wondering how do I deal with the work permit?

Can I just update the current one I have in the Voivodship?

Can I just show up there and give them my current work permit, my new position work contract and tell them to update it?
So I wouldnt have to wait so long again for a new one to be issued. My girlfriend(Polish native) says I just show up there and do what I mentioned earlier and thats it I can start working on the new position within the same company, I wont have to wait for anything. If this can be done like this how long is the wait time approximately until the work permit is updated?

I am in the process In getting the pobyt, in my passport it says it should be done in 4 days (but I know those dates dont really mean much), and I might have to start over again with that process but its not important.

If it's really the same company, I think your gf is correct; there's no need to start a new process if it's the same company; contract is between you and the company and work position doesn't / shouldn't affect your legal status.
