Is it possible to find a job on short notice in Lodz,Poland?

Hey guys, I was wondering maybe any one could help me with my question. I was thinking about moving to Lodz,Poland for a few months.

Is it possible to find a decent job quick? I am browsing different job offer websites but all I can find is high end jobs like Accounting, IT programmer and stuff like that. But I was wondering is it possible to find a decent paying job like working in a restaurant, a warehouse worker, customer service in a mall or something like that?

I am fluent in English (basically my native language) but I don't know polish.

I would be living with my girlfriend because she is an exchange student so we would split the bills for housing and stuff like that.

Basically I want to find a job Mon/Fri so I can travel a little bit throughout Europe on weekends (like a 1 day trip to germany and stuff like that) as it is very cheap to do so.

There's no such thing as a decent paying job in a restaurant, customer service or in warehouses. Furthermore, how would you expect to work in Poland without knowing Polish and with a lot of Ukrainians (that can more or less understand and be understood in Polish) willing to take such jobs?

Furthermore, you're Canadian. That means you need a work permit, which no-one is going to apply for on your behalf when they can just employ a Ukrainian student that doesn't need a work permit.


It's cheap if you earn a good salary. You won't get a good salary working in the lowest jobs.

Thanks for the reply! I have a dual citizenship so I don't need a work permit to work in Europe. What I meant by "decent" paying job was I could take a minimum wage job because I would not be living alone. As I said me & my girlfriend would split the bills and stuff like that. I have a little money saved up also.

Without speaking Polish or being able to teach languages, your only hope is an English speaking call centre: there's a few in Poland.

That or some sort of Callan school.
