Where to look for contract-based employment in Poland?

Hello,

Here's my situation:
I am a dual citizen but have lived in the US for most of my adult life. I speak Polish and English fluently, and do not need work permits to work in Poland. I am trying to figure out where to start looking for contract based employment in Poland. I would be particularly interested in finding small to medium US-based firms looking to expand operations into Poland, and vice-versa.

I have experience in real estate, particularly with bank/lender owned assets, property management, residential construction and remodeling (US), logistics and sales. Other experience includes computer forensics, security, networking, hardware, component level electronics, as well as being a former certified auto mechanic. Pretty much I have a wide skill set, my only problem is that I do not have any idea where to start looking. Most employment sites do not list contracts. I am not looking to relocate to Poland permanently, but would like to work on assignments ranging from 3 to 9 months, especially in or around Krakow. I know this may be a long shot, but I want to put the feelers out there and see what is available.

honestly- you probably will not find much. Who wants to hire somebody for only 3 to 9 months? not very economical, is it? unless you are some sort of builder. I think your best bet is to find companies in the states first that have offices here and apply in the u.s.

If you could manage a team of builders for a foreign developer- you would be successful. However, it requires more time than 3 to 9 months.

Someone looking to fill a 3-9 month job.

There is a lot of outsourcing software development done in Krakow so there should be work available. I doubt there will be much contract work though. Try Gumtree, I employed a developer on there.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Plenty of companies send reps to other countries to establish trade relationships, oversee implementation contracts, scout locations and market before relocation, etc.

I have known people that have worked jobs like that, but they got them purely based on connections or luck. Large companies have the capital to open a branch in another country. Small and medium firms rely on contractors for that. My problem is how to find the leads to secure such positions.
