I'm an IT professional and have recently been offered an IT job from a good Bank. Job location will be Krakow. I have worked in US for 4 years , but i'm curious to know more about Poland before I could make up my mind. I have heard Poland has a low average salary range when compared to it's other EU members and I'm assuming the cost of living factors in. Could you please share your thoughts on moving to Poland, salaries , infrastructure , stay and transportation in and around Krakow. I do not speak Polish but I'm sure to learn it quickly.
I'm moving to Krakow in the end of May, and am looking for a job. I've been working in customer support for quite a few years, but call center / help desk is ok to start with, also! The thing is I don't speak polish, just english, portuguese and spanish. Can you please advice on how I should start looking?
Hi NC i m working for a corporation and we provide IT help desk so if you are interested just send me your cv in english to my mail and i will contact you: alanmancinotti@yahoo.it
Thanks for the help! cc1984 I'll get in touch later today!
I know it's hard to say, but can any of you give me a rough idea of how long it usually takes these days to get a job in my area? I just want to be prepared, 2 months, 3, 6 months...?
I am thinking of coming to Poland and doing some contracting or permanent job, I only speak English. My specialty is Vmware and Exchange, I am currently working as a consultant for a large mining firm in London. You will ask so why are you leaving London and your job? the answer is to spend time with my polish girlfriend who currently work and study in Warsaw.
Hello, I represent the Cyclad company - an international IT Consulting and Outsourcing Company. We have some offers for foreigners that are interested in IT branch and working in Poland.
Please, send me your current CV to nlz@cyclad.pl and also please include in the message information what location in Poland are you the most interested in.
Hi again! Seams nobody wants to risk saying how long it may take to get a job...
I know that in the UK there are agencies where you can go to leave your CV, and they help you finding a job. Are there any kind of agencies like this in Krakow, or all the search is made over the Internet?
Obviously you're searching for a job. Then register yourself on linkedin.com and goldenline.pl start sending CVs to headhunters there and straight to the companies. You advertised yourself enough here.
Thanks Monitor I am already on LinkedIn but I need to widen my search a little, especially that I have nearly 10 years of experience. do you know of any agency websites?
I agree with NC1979, I personally found all my jobs through online agencies and I am struggling to find anything like that in Poland, maybe they are keeping it a secret ;)
Then register in goldenline and start sending cv. Search in google "praca it site:pl" to get into polish adds about work in IT. While sending CV you may get to agencies. I think they're mostly representing companies, so it's your job to browse all job adds available and apply for them. It's not so hard.
Here you have one agency: it.lsj.pl/en/job-offers/
Quite possible, but we should remember HP is not doing as well as it did 10years ago.
The US-based firm - which remains the world's biggest maker of PCs
PC market staging a RECOVERY. (Only joking, it's through the floor) No mercy, no let-up.... It is down, down, down until 2017
IDC is forecasting that the technology channel will buy in around 34 million fewer PCs this year than last, and the bad news for anyone making a crust in that sector is that things aren't going to improve any time soon
The pc might be on a decline. it doesnt change the fact that hp was doing horribly for some time already, they were doing worse and worse with laptops, made a complete flop while trying to get into smartphones market
Merged: How about IT and civil engineering jobs in Poland?
I am a software engineer with 8 years experience(C++) and my husband is a civil engineer with 6 years experience(roads and bridges designer). we are planning to relocate to Poland. Can we get highly paid jobs there? Please help..
Basically, no. If it's money you are after, then Poland just isn't the right place for you.
Earnings and savings potential are much, much lower than in the richer countries of western Europe like Germany, Switzerland and Norway, in the English-speaking countries (US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand), and jobs for civil engineers are hard to find. Also, the high cost of living relative to wages makes saving up a significant amount of money much more difficult that in richer countries, and the quality of life is considerably lower. Concentrate on finding a job in those countries.
What ever you do, do not come to Poland unless you BOTH already have found high-paying jobs BEFORE you come. It would be foolish to do otherwise. In fact, there is little, if any, point wasting your time even thinking about Poland at all.
For both of you, I would recommend going either where R&D dollars are concentrated (for you), or where there are extremely advanced construction megaprojects with mega budgets (for him). Follow the money. That's where the interesting, rewarding and high-paying jobs are.
Why there are many open IT jobs in Poland? There aren't qualified people to fit it or there is a big demand from companies? I would like to understand this situation.
