At least someone with a pedagogical background and FCE might have more clue than these, even if their pron. is a bit rubbish?

You would hope so wouldn't you! ;0)

As I said:

To be honest with turkishgrl's qualifications I would have much more confidence in her teaching children than someone with a basic FCE and I would advise her to contact me as we have a lack of good elementary school English Teachers here where I live.

Come on guys that's a bit of a bigoted response.

My wife has spent the last three months in Istanbul setting up a joint research project with her Institute, the National Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation, and has been pleasantly surprised with the level of professionalism of the Turkish researchers.

I have only to refer you to the above posts that ridicule Turkish people, and mud sticks after so much stereotyping that unfortunately there is an undercurrent of belief.

Happily, my wife has learnt that this is not the case and has invited some of these researchers to our house for a summer holiday and I for one am really looking forward to it ;0)

Anybody they accept as a guest will always experience unbelievable hospitality.

Given sufficiently decent level of knowledge I can't see why a Turkish gal shouldn't teach English anywhere she wants. I taught ESL in New York City to Poles and to Hispanics. Not such a difficult job at all but money was good just to get started.

You could work in Poland only in public schools as Turkish teacher. Teachers of their native language in Polish public schools don't need work permit. For work as English teacher you would need the permit and nobody would bother to apply for it, because there is plenty of Polish English language teachers. Try China.

he is right you know China is full of opportunities for anyone with a CELTA, native speaker or not.
