Hi All,

I am khaled from Egypt, currently working as Telecomunications Engineer in Saudi Arabia and I've saved some money here. Actually I plan to leave Saudi Arabia in 2015 but I don't want to come back to Egypt or any Arabic country at this time.

The question : is it possible to make small project in Poland? , I have around (85,000) Euro.
I choose Poland because its cheap country and I think with this money I can't do anything in western Europe like Germany or France.

so please I need your opinions if its good to work with this money in Poland or its better to immigrate to Australia or canada and search for job.

Thanks

Australia is probably the best choice. You will find quite a lot of competition here in this field.

Australias gdp has been declining for 30 years. Our current government is regressive and backward and anti- science. We have missed the boat in regards to innovation, manufacturing and many other things. Jobs here are not many and the pay has gone down. Ppl are taking up jobs for the same amount I considered decent in 1999. If you want to work in a service station come to Australia. Also our employment figures are falsified and there is a small enquiry into that now. If you work 1 day a week you are considered employed lol you will die on that amount of money. Our employment figures the real ones are far worse it's a con we all know it. Poland is going up. We are going down. Canada I know nothing about at all. Dont be fooled by these and many other blatant falsifications because reality is far different.

I dont have time to look at all those links. Most of our revenue comes from mining. Not everybody is in mining. Most ppl get nothing out of mining so if thats what is in there its another illusion.Having missed the boat on renewabke energy was a big one our car industry has collapsed I will be buying an electric car next year and not a single piece of it is made here. Not a single piece of equipment in my house was made here. Just most of the food in the fridge oh and I even have a jar of polish strawberry jam cause australian jam tasted like sugar mixed with more sugar. I have my own business so I am lucky. I certainly wont hire an egyptian over one of the unemployed here waiting in line already and telling a foreigner its easy hereis doing them a great injustice.

C'mon ... not even one? :)
You don't have to read - just look at a graph that shows you how the Aussie GDP increased over the past decades, and not decreased as you've claimed.

the unemployed here waiting in line already and telling a foreigner its easy hereis doing them a great injustice.

What about the thousands of Kiwis that cross the ditch every year? Something's fishy about the picture you are painting.

Ok cool. Real standard of living is what you need it's is a line from right to left which goes down over 30 years very consistently. The raw gdp doesn't paint a picture. Australia is a great democracy and great place to live but we aren't doing much at all and standard of living going down. So in reality it isn't as shiny as ppl think. I visited over a 100 businesses this year and traveled. I see a lack of jobs and a extreme lack of job diversification. A lack of significant industry across the board and declining.

Who knows you could do well but dont expect even half a free ride.

Hi Khaled,

I'm an electronics engineer, I've worked in Australia for several years and I've had a project in Poland.

If you can demonstrate that you're competent, then you'll probably find a job in Australia. Check the job offers (for example seek.com.au) and send your CV, the hiring company will organize for you a work visa (subclass 457). Australia is a cool multicultural place with nice weather, good food and beautiful beaches. As an engineer you'll get a comfortable salary if you're not too bad at negotiating.

A project in Poland? Yeah why not. I don't know what you have in mind though. If you're thinking of a pub or a restaurant, then I can't help - I'm not into these things. If you want to start a technical project, then Poland is a nice place because you can hire competent people for a reasonable salary and running costs are relatively low. Weather is not great however, and there will be the language barrier.

You could also get a job in Australia for a few years, then apply for a permanent visa and start your business there. Probably your best option.

Cheers

Nick

You will be a stranger in Poland. You don't speak Polish and probably have darker skin color. Poland is homogeneous country, not everybody speaks English there. You did not write what you would like to do there? If you want to feel comfortable then go to multicultural country or a Muslim one. For example Turkey.

guys Iam not comparing between Australia and Poland in quality of life , I know Australia has a lot of advantages but I believe that if you lived in a poor country with good income that covers main issues plus entertainment better than living in rich country trying to find any job. At this time you will not enjoy your life , just watching rich people enjoy their life only :)

If you want to feel comfortable then go to multicultural country or a Muslim one

But who tells you I am a Muslim and as I said I am not planing to live in Arabic or Islamic country

But you don't tell what you want to do in Poland. Poland is perhaps not as cheap as you think. 85 000 will buy you 60m^2 flat in Warsaw. Or let you employ 1 engineer for 5 years in 2nd tier city. On the other hand if you have an idea for a simple, labor intensive, but cheap production in order to export for example to Germany, then it can be an ideal country 85 000 eur will let you hire worker with minimum salary for 14 years. (not taking into account salary increase, inflation and exchange rate fluctuation).

But who tells you I am a Muslim and as I said I am not planing to live in Arabic or Islamic country

I thought that over 90% of Egyptians are Muslims. But if you don't want to deal with other Muslims then perhaps consider cheaper southern European countries, like Portugal. Your skin color will stick out less there.

In fact, I want to work in the optical fiber field (test equipment), so we can provide test equipment to subcontractors and vendors with lower cost.

This money just to rent an office with its arrangement for one year ( the test equipment is very expensive but there is another company will cooperate with us in this issue)

Your skin color will stick out less there.

I never thought my skin color will be a problem but let see :)

Well then this is going to be a major concern as you probably know.

Yes that's an issue too. You would have to create limited liability company in order to get permit to stay here and conduct business. The problem with it is that it's 50000 PLN frozen money and it requires accountant (perhaps just accountant service, not a full time worker) to run. Cheaper forms business are unavailable to foreigners.

In fact, I want to work in the optical fiber field (test equipment), so we can provide test equipment to subcontractors and vendors with lower cost.

Maybe you know better but you can charge more for services in richer western countries. But of course more important is weather there is demand.
