How to find work in Warsaw "if u don't speak Polish" !

hi evryone

i'm an arabic guy living in warsaw , i came to poland about 5 months ago with my wife (polish) , i like the country so much and ppl here , but i'm having problems to find a job even as worker in shops ! tried few companies ect ... nothing because in 5-6 months really hard to speak polish , i can hardly understand , but evrywhere they need someone can speak polish , i spent all that time giving arabic lessons and it's not a good way for living ...

so i'm really wishing if someone can help me and tell me at least how or where !

i'll be really thankfull for sharing with me anything u know ..

The only thing you'll probably manage would be manual construction jobs, washing dishes, that kind of job. Nothing well paying at all, to be honest.

You might be better off trying to get an English teaching job in somewhere that only cares about money.

Been here for about 3-4 weeks now in Poland with no jobs and less travel cheque, so, m in trouble now.

I am Pole living in Warsaw, my bf is from Pakistan and doesnt speak polish. He is working in Maison Consulting and Solutions (its Microsoft partner as i know) as a functional consultant in ERP field. We are doing some plans for our future and maby in a half year he will come to Warsaw but I dont know where he could work without polish language.

I have not been able to find a job due to the fact that I only speak little Polish. But, I am encouraged to hear that You are working for Microsoft and you do not need to use polish language. In that sens, I would appreciate if you could help in any way. I am fluent in English, French and Arabic. Do you mean "he doesn't speak English well"?
You are a little out of touch. I know an English teacher who is paid 120PLN/hr.

Monitor lives in Munich, Germany, so he must have confounded "English" with "Englisch". But the use of "good" instead of "well" in his phrase makes his action what we typically describe in Polish through the saying: "przyganiał kocioł garnkowi".


If I were to pay this, I'd prefer to go to the "Learning English with the BBC" website. They are very good as well.


I don't think so unless someone reports you to the police which is extremely unlikely in your case.

There's an offer for Arabic speakers (you need to know html, xml and English as well, but Polish is NOT required). Search on monsterpolska for Junior Engineer with Arabic.

If you don't speak Polish, you can look for a job in your native language here careers in poland. If you can't find a job matching your criteria, leave your CV. All employers with a profile on this website would have an access to your CV. Remember that they are looking for foreigners who do not have to speak Polish, even on a basic level.

Thanks for the link. I've been looking for a career in Lodz for the past week. This site looks promising since I don't speak polish very well. Any ideas for a native English speaker living in Lodz with business and economics degrees from AACSB accredited universities.

Here are some job listings in Lodz. As you can see, Infosys is constantly hiring. For some roles you need an additional language, for others English would be sufficient. You could see it as a temporary solution while you keep your eye out for something else.

Currently there are 68 job offers for English speakers in £ódź [careers in poland/jobs/c=lodz;l=english]. You didn't say which exactly field of study have you finished on AACSB accredited university, but here are some offers in risk management, accounting, audit and process management.

Most likely all these offers are with Infosys. Be advised they pay peanuts and the job rotation is exceptionally high there. That's why they are constantly hiring. But yes, for foreigners without knowledge of Polish and Poland it is a short-term solution.

Thanks for all the feedback! I don't know if any call centers in Lodz will work out for me, because I seem to be over qualified for most BPO postings I've seen. Might have to go the English Business teacher route. Anyone have a Lodz school list with what the going wage should be? Again thank you for all of the relevant feed back.

I have 2 B.S. degrees in; Business Management, Strategy, Economics Minor, and finishing my thesis for MBA. Also, have owned a couple businesses. Someday I'll finish the PhD route ;)

What can you offer on the Polish job market that an EU citizen cannot? I'm not seeing much of anything useful there. Chances are very low that any language school is going to go through the hassle of getting work permission for an inexperienced non-EU citizen for a full time job, and you will need a full-time job contract to get permission to stay.

When speaking of Infosys in particular, you will find that they are anything else but a call center. Most of their clients / engagements focus on process outsourcing in either finance or procurement so no technical support, selling things etc.


I am not sure how you come to the conclusion that you are over qualified to work in BPO but then want to go and teach English.


That is not really going to help you much, at least not in the beginning. There are plenty of highly educated people in Lodz, or Poland in general for that matter, so the question is why they would hire you and not a local person who also speaks Polish?
