"we'll make Poland the laughing stock through media if it doesn't pay up" that was in the early 90's and it's been going on ever since.

You did not have a relative in Jedwabne or Kielce perhaps?

I lived in Poland between 2003 and 2007 and I've experienced all kinds of things there.

The most recent murder rate in Poland was 1.22 out of 100,000

Only 3 out of 50 U.S states had a murder rate lower than that.

That is New Hampshire, Vermont & Iowa.

With the highest U.S state Louisiana having a 11.8 out of 100,000 murder rate.

Close to 10 times higher than Poland.

East Saint Louis has the highest murder rate in the U.S of 101 out of 100,000

Which is nearly 100 times higher than Poland.

There are some real problems in the U.S. It is mostly with Non White people.

Behave yourself on planes, when getting off from planes at airports.
Walk nice manner and be cautious. There are lot of people who are getting on to their planes just like you did.

East Saint Louis (one city in the USA which happens to have the highest murder rate in the country) has a murder rate 100 times higher than the national avg of Poland. you are comparing 2 different things which is silly.

an accurate comparison would be to choose the city in Poland with the highest murder rate with East Saint Louis. most dangerous vs most dangerous.

would it mean anything to you if i brought up a city in America that has a lower murder rate than Poland's avg murder rate?

also, as someone was stating earlier, the high murder rates occur in large city slums. America has a huge number of cities with populations greater than Poland's largest, most populated city, not to mention an insane amount of immigrants, legal and illegal living there in the USA. these are things that make the two countries very very different and must be considered when just looking at raw numbers.

can't argue with that one. i'm just glad the murder rate is comprised mostly of criminals killing criminals.

the high murder rates occur in large city slums.

pretty much

I live in a town of 100,000+ people, we had two cases of homicide in the past 10 years. So, for every East St Louis, there are hundreds of suburbs and towns like ours, where people are not afraid to walk alone after dark, or leave their homes and cars unlocked, and a neighbor will let you know you dropped some money on the sidewalk rather than put it in their pocket.

More importantly, while comparing crime statistics across countries you always run into the issue of definition. Polish murder rate excludes attempted murder. The US typically includes it.

in addition, the USA has states larger than Poland (even when excluding Alaska, California and Texas) so it's very difficult to compare and categorize two completely different countries in such a way. what may be in one part of the country can, and often times is, very different 2,000 miles away in another part of the country.

Really?

yes, really. If you believe you're smart then tell me why would I lie about it? Do I ever bash Poland? No, I criticize things I don't like in general, it doesn't matter where it is.

Why would you even want to disscus anything with 17 y/o girl?

It's great to be always 17. The truth is, you'd say the same thing about anyone who disagrees with you, grubas.

are You sure they werent coming out of your mouth?

do you see me bashing Poland on PF? I hardly ever say something negative about Poland but you're blind to believe that Poland is a perfect country. I don't spout bs about Poland like many other people on this site do it about America (for example) and if I criticize something then it's based on my personal experiences and not some kind of word of mouth bs.

Yea I didn't ever even here of anyone getting robbed and surely not stabbed or shot in Poland.

well, you're not very well informed then. I know you love Poland and I respect it but your sentence above, shows that this love is blind, PB.

Besides, I didn't say anything about stabbing and shooting but even if I did, it obviously happens in Poland too just like in any other country too.

I can't find any murder rate stats on Polish cities.

However, Moscow has a murder rate of 9.8 out of 100,000 by the most recent stat.

Moscow has a reputation for being the murder capitol of Europe.

Chicago has a 16.1 out of 100,000 murder rate.

Chicago's murder rate is nearly double of Moscow
& East Saint Louis more than 10 times higher than Moscow.

Did I ever say that there's no crimes in the US? The answer is no. What I say (and it's true) is that the vast majority of "our" crimes are being committed in "our" big cities, that's all.

agreed. when discussing murder rates in the USA though, it's always necessary to look at who is killing who. the vast majority of murders in the USA are black on black violence or simply black on 'somebody else' violence. i'd be curious as to what the numbers would be if we eliminated the poor black community from the math.

here you go: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Homicide_victimization_by_race.jpg

after looking at those numbers, it's also worth noting that the USA is about 79% caucasian and only 13% black. the majority of the crime numbers are generated within that small 13% of the country's population. the rest? mostly from the hispanic population.

the USA has a violence problem for sure but that problem comes from the minorities, plain and simple.

I had a very similar post to yours not too long ago, watch it, even though you're just posting facts, you'll be called racist soon.

Government is a bureaucracy with changing heads and all bureaucracies need red tape to justify their continued existence.

The social security administration is a great example, employes a bazillion government slugs instead of being efficient. And is rewarded for their inefficiency with more funding for more employees feeding at the government.

Or the IRS...

Or the department of education...

You will be harassed by the airport molesters and the American police will jail you for nothing.

That's one thing Poles don't understand, is respecting the law. The dumb woman could have videotaped from her house. What if the guy they caught got loose and shot her? She's be crying to the police they didn't do their job. This annoying woman was interferring and was asked several times politely to get back.

So beware Poles, don't come here because you don't obey the law.
