Does anyone know of any good/cheap ways to send packages to Poland? Us postal service is expensive, I use to go to ja wa agency in greenpoint, brooklyn but I moved and would only like to go there as a last resort (I wouldnt want to drive 6 1/2 hours). Are there any agency's that someone knows of in CT, N.H or Mass? Thanx
Sending packages from US to PL, cheapest alternative?
polamer is cheap if you aren't in a hurry but they are in NYC and Chicago.
UPS now sends to Poland.
ups is more expensive then usps. i thought usps was more then reasonable on a small package; down right cheap, really. i'll be sending one here in the next week or two and will know for sure but that's what it was a couple of years back anyway.
Use DOMA they are good and affordable, Polamer is more expensive last time I checked! Good luck

You can mail your package via USPS to Polamer, then they can send it for you. Depending on the size of your package, check out what works better for you.
The thing I dont like with USPS is that you arent "guaranteed" the package will get there. When I sometimes send a small package or padded envelope it has a 50/50 chance of arriving in Poland. I understand this most likely isnt the fault of USPS, but rather the Polish Post, but USPS cant insure or track international shipments.
Polamer is responsible financially for it, so they track where the package is.

thanx for your help. I also have another question. Does anyone know how long it would take to travel to Poland? Would it get there for Christmas?

depends on it's by a ship or by an airplane... by usps you can send 10 days or longer... by a ship a few weeks...

if you use polamer, do it now!!! their stuff goes via a boat.
but USPS cant insure or track international shipments.
Not true. I work for the USPS. You too can insure a package to Poland, but not a small package, it has to weigh more than 4 pounds, which has an insured tracking number or you can send it registered mail, which costs more while the contents are more valuable.
Nobody can guarantee the package will get there because of certain unforseen "accidents" but USPS will give you your money back if the package does not arrive. Hold on to your receipts.

thanks Krysia for the info. my post office is a bunch of lazy old men, and maybe they didnt want to take the time to mess with insuring it, and advised me otherwise.

do you have the ja wa address
I just mailed a flat rate, priority box to Poland via USPS. It cost me $58 from FL. Sadly, the shipping cost is worth more than the contents inside.
sending got so expensive...
We ended up with just driving down to Brooklyn and sending it thru Ja Wa agency. For 2 packages we spent a about $70, one package was a bit over 50 lbs the other was 10 lbs. She said that the packages sent by sea have to be a minimum of 20 lbs, and was nice enough to take 10 lbs off of the 50 lbs package and add the weight to the smaller package. Oh and a $1 for each package to insure it.

I have sent packages to Poland and get feed back many times they arrived within a week....I usually give my pkgs about 10 days. Send it via USPS. I never expect the best so always glad to hear good feedback. UPS cost a fortune.
I have sent packages through Polonez Parcel Service, Inc. for many, many years and have had good luck with them. I think the current rate by boat is 89 cents per pound, with an $8.00 surcharge for each package. Minumum weight is 20 pounds. Your package can weigh less but you will have to pay the 20 pound rate. Packages take, on average, 4 weeks and are delivered right to the door. Contact Polonez to find out if there is an agent near you.

Poloenz Parcel Service has agencies all over US that they deal with. They have a web site Polonez.info. Depending on where you are shiping from they have packages as cheap as $ 0.29 per lb. Their service is really quick last time I sent a package by boat it got to my family in Krakow in 3 weeks. I don't think any one can beat that, plus they have been around for over 30 years. I remember the fiasco when Polish Cargo started shipping packages they were here for about 3 years and then went bankrupt. I tried them and ended up loosing 10 packages that never arrived. I'm only shipping now with companies that I know have been here for years and are reliable.
Does anyone know which Post Office firm is used to deliver packages in Poland, that were mailed out using USPS? I shipped out a package on Aug 8th, and on Aug 11th, I received a tracking update stating that a delivery was attempted. Since the recipient was not home, they couldn't deliver. The problem now is that they didn't leave any notice at the door, or otherwise, so I have no idea which Post Office company to contact in order to determine where the package is or to schedule a pick-up. I called USPS, but they don't know which post office delivers their packages in Poland... go figure.
The item was shipped using USPS Express Mail International. Cost me $80 for 12.5 lbs & $500 insurance.

That will be Poczta Polska. Just go to the post office where registered mail and parcels are usually left for that address and ask there.
The 'don't leave an advice slip' scam is common with Polish postal workers. They claim to have left slips and then wait two weeks for the person to come collect their parcel. Because the person doesn't collect the parcel, it it then returned to sender. Or at least it should be, in reality it is stolen by a postal worker.

this sort of thing had crossed my mind. i would add to this that it usually happens when the regular delivery person is on holiday. at least that's the case in my part of town.

Is Poczta Polska the same thing as Pocztex? I'm trying to figure out what type of service this is and how to contact them. Is Poczta Polska the same type of establishment as here in the US where we have USPS, UPS and FedEx?
I went to www/poczta-polska/pl earlier and couldn't really find a location in the citi that I mailed the package to. I guess contacting the headquarters, which I think is in Warsaw, could do the trick?
The person I sent the package to just recently moved so I don't think she knows what service is used in that part of the citi. The move was in the same citi so I can't imagine that it would be a different firm, but I guess the neighbors will know.
There is an option to call the post office and pick up the package in person, correct?

I would strongly discourage you from using Poland Parcel. They are completely unreliable and don't deliver packages in a timely manner. Check their website for proof: packages on send November 20th won't be delivered until AFTER March 15. That's four months later! My friend send a packages through them in December and keeps hearing each week different excuses why the packages are not there yet.

Poland Parcel llc ??? The December packages are still undelivered. Now, their office does not answer phone calls, left messages or emails. No explanations.
I wonder if anybody has a positive experience with them?

Poland Parcel llc - fraudsters. I suspect that packages never left US and vanished without trace.
Poland Parcel llc- Recently, no any contact with them was available . Finally they delivered the package. It took almost 4 months instead 5-7 weeks as they advertised.

I send packages at times through Poland Parcel to the Czech Republic, it takes time.. sometimes longer then 4-7 weeks, but it's still worth it. It's so much cheaper than the post office. Last time, a package which was 52 Lbs cost me $80. Try it, you will see.
