Why are Polish restaurants not successful in the USA?

Can you elaborate? ( I'm serious here) Are we talking about restaurants or home cuisine?

Ha ha British food! There may only be two Polish restaurants in Southern California, both of which are successful, but there are no British restaurants at all here. Once again the douchey nationalism of this forum's snaggletoothed, pasty faced, British denizens comes to the fore. Their pride has been hurt by the recent riots and now they are lashing out. This should be good for alot of laughs.

who are the "we"

that would be any one of the mods.

Hey Wroclaw if I disagree with your claim regarding British food's superiority will you suspend me

to disagree is to add to the discussion. so i won't suspend you for that.

any post simply has to meet the rules. nothing more.

Both. Britain has (I think) more 3 star restaurants than France. Restaurant food here is good. Home cooking is among the most varied in the world. British food really is good.

And that's from a 10 second look on google.

I can agree as to restaurants;Maybe because there is more people eating out than in Poland.
Home cooking is among the most varied in the world ? you mean pasta, roasts, fry, chicken ? ......I disagree .....or maybe you are taking Indian or Chinese - er? sorry it is not British food

hahaha. this is so ridiculous. what a silly thing to say. i tell you, the way some people argue on here, it's just amazing.

ha, ok. well, silly AND untrue, apparently.

British staple cuisine is better than polish staple cuisine ?

I'll tell you what, maybe the poles on here need to provide a nice list of "staple polish cuisine". then, we can judge it accordingly. i've got a pretty darn good grasp of what staple polish food is but we won't get anywhere till the poles admit to it.

No. Have a look at any British cookbook. I'm British and I almost never eat any of the above. There really is a rich (and highly regional cuisine) that more and more is transferring itself from the home to the restaurant. The same could be done with Polish cuisine, however variety seems to be sometimes frowned on, and cuisine does need to adapt to changing tastes, ingredients and influences.

I find that surprising. There used to be a really nice English restaurant in San Diego that I frequented many years back. I would try to see if it was still there but I have to clean my dentures and then go out to ram raid the local American Golf store (this week it's middle class riots over here) and drop the missus off to rampage through Jimmy Choos.

british, what food do they serve?
Pie and mash?
cod and chips?
sunday roast?
jellied eels?
bacon egg and chips?

Curious, what is british food in restaurants abroad?

hopefully not off topic just an extension to another post.

Do be quiet.

You haven't really answered my question and who are the "we" that'll judge my posts? Would that be you and a commitee of other British expatriates living in Poland who can't stand criticism of their Polonophobic posts?

Ah, I love your crusade against the mods. Hint : you won't win.

still waiting.

So you wish to know the secret of staying lean and fit? LOL. Keep waiting than. Despite your claim of how fat the Polish food is, it’s in US that one spots a fat ass wherever one cares to look. I guess it’s all due to the success of that healthy international fast food you consume; proof is in the putting so to speak. After all, don’t you have the saying? You are what you eat. We already know what the staple American food is; don’t bother making your pathetic list.

yes yes, every single person in america eats fast food....breakfast, lunch and dinner! we're all fat, unhealthy greedy people living in a lousy country!

whatever you say. great. of course. yes, of course. sure, sure.

what is staple polish food?

my question is directly related to this thread. the OP is asking why Polish restaurants are not successful in the USA so don't you think idenfying what the food actually is would be a good start? sounds logical to me and illogical for the poles on here to refuse to answer a simple question, a question right on topic.

ShortHairThug wrote:

can't argue that one. it surely is successful. LOTS of "pudding" in every single fast food joint in Poland, for sure.

My conclusions are as follows: if someone says that Polish cuisine is unhealthy, bland, repetitive, means , that such a person is not familiar with Polish cuisine, or is only familiar with meals served in cheap eateries. So, my advise is as follows : provide yourself with a good cookbook and try to cook something on your own or visit a good Polish restaurant.

As a proof, that Polish cuisine is healthy may serve a fact, that in Poland the percentage of obese people is insignificant.

Polish restaurants will never be very popular in USA as Americans choose mostly fast food restaurants . Also the other factor is that, over the years of Poland being a country highly degraded by the jewish owned media average uneducated Americans don`t have a positive attitude towards anything, which is Polish .

Educated people have their own vision of our country not biased by media .

Martha Steward, who is Polish, made a fortune promoting her way of living in USA, which is undeniably Polish .

Could you give us an example of some of the meals that you've eaten this week? Maybe a nice meal by meal run down.

I highly doubt it has anything to do with a Jewish conspiracy as most Northern European cuisines don't go over very well in the US. German restaurants aren't exactly booming over there...

YES. we're all huge, like walking tubs of lard.

what is staple polish food?

holy cow, that's insane.

is it possible for a mega rich woman who has spent her entire life in the USA and doesn't speak Polish at all to live an "undeniably Polish" way of life?

Average uneducated Americans wouldn't be eating in good restaurants full stop - so the point is moot.

holy cow, that's insane.

Didn't you know that it's all just a Jewish conspiracy against Poland?

I mean, even the food is the result of a Jewish conspiracy to deprive Poland of good food!

Most "Polish" food seems to be Russian food spelled slightly differently.............

You people, who replied to my post and made comments like that :

Jewish conspiracy against Poland?

Polish" food seems to be Russian food

are only here to degrade Polish nation and you distort the facts and I will not answer to your competely moronic comments containing distorted and completely twisted conclusions based on my original post nb 573 . I am sorry, but it is not my fault, that you don`t comprehend like normal people . It is a compete waste of my time to give answers to your comments .

Just a hint , don`t wait for recipies from me , buy some Polish cookbook or go to Polish food internet site and start cooking or go to a good restaurant, before you say something about Polish food

or find another subject from Polish culture to complain about . This is really boring to hear your repetitive, negatively inclined complaints .

I wonder, why do you post here on this specific forum, which is designed for people interested in Poland , but not interested in hearing biased and negative opinions all the time from the same group of people . You people have nothing valuable to say about our country , you don`t know our history or culture, but you are the first to critisize everything what`s Polish . Don`t sit here on this forum, go to your native forum . Everybody, who posts and reads comments on PF knows that you are biased people . Why are you stuck here ?

Why are you stuck here ?

Partly to be entertained by fruit loops such as yourself. Unfortunatly day trips to bedlam Hospital are frowned upon these days so our basic human curiosity and primative urge to gawk at the lunatics is salved somewhat by the internet and the various kooks and moon howlers who appear from time to time.most of whom inevetably start to talk about jewish conspiracies at some point..................
