Good pictures. So why do Poles get mad when their visas are refused? We are all fat here. We eat people so they better not come here.

i just had this conversation with one of my best polish friends last night.

i asked him the same question and basically he said, "respect". it pisses him off that Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, countries that do nothing for America have visa waivers, yet Poland does not. he didn't necessarily say that Poland through the years has done "oh so much" for america and that's why they should be in the VWP, rather that he doesn't like how countries that do nothing for america somehow are in the VWP.

i can see the frustration.

there is still a significant concern whether it be America's or Poland's concern that if they give them visa free travel, too many poles will wind up in america illegally. I don't think America simply doesn't like Poland, or that they are doing it intentionally as some form of disprespect like some people ramble on about on this forum.....and I guess the only way we'll ever find out if in fact too many Poles will overstay their visas if Poland enters the VWP is if the day finally comes that they can travel visa free. Until then, it's only speculation. I have my own opinions on the whole thing but I'll never know for sure till that day comes.

to agree with the question, "Is it right, or justified, that the USA does not give Poland visa free travel?"

I don't agree with my friend and I don't agree with you.

he didn't necessarily say that Poland through the years has done "oh so much" for america and that's why they should be in the VWP,

besides that we let us to be screwed by Americans by buying wrecked jets, involving in conflicts which had nothing to do with Poland and almost agreeing to built a defence shield for nothing in exchange. But I don't want any visas for that. I just hope that we learnt the lesons and we are never again to do any favour to our American "partners".

What about "respect" to America? They come here and have no respect to our laws, no respect to our poeple, no respect to our food. Everything here is fat, dumb and stupid. So why do Poles want to come here?

because that is the consequence of being the big stupid dad in a sitcom. he goes to work, makes money, keeps a nice house and his kids want for nothing, yet he's the target of ridicule and blame for the whole family, his wife included. it doesn't matter what dad does or how well he does it, he'll always be dumb sitcom dad yet he keeps his mouth shut and keeps plugging away because he knows in the end what really matters.

ironside, i know im a little late in responding, but i just found this site. im in american. whose gf and gm are from poland. i would love to come to poland. i know nothing about immigration visa, you mentioned about stats about how many poles dont come back to poland, that noone will give you numbers. i think any one should be able to go to any country to visit, especially if they have ancestors from there. anyway here is a way you can get some stats, go to ellisisland.com, most coming into americacame through there. note the number of immigrates from poland, then go to united states naturalizion website, for people who followed though with their visas and stayed, and note list of people that return when visa was finished the numbers are horriable different. although i couldnt imagine the strenght and how brave people are to come to another county, i would freak out. my brother in law is mexican he is illigally here for 31 years, then gets druck ,drives his truck and gets pulled over the police detain him, they held him in jail for 8 months and just now sent him back to mexico, leaving his amecian wife, 6 kids, and 3 grankids. its horriable, after so long LEAVE HIM ALONE. but i would never want to be him always worrying about getting deported. america isnt not special ,at leasst not in michigan. im near chicago, and right now we in a winter snow strom 15-30 inches this last week, can anyone get me a visa to a warm country please.

No. His time spent here shouldn't be a consideration for leniency. If anything his punishment should be INCREASED because of the length of time he was here illegally breaking our laws.

Chances are, he is just going to come back because it's so easy and there really isn't anything we can do about them coming over from Mexico. There's no way to keep them out since they share such a long border with us unless we want to be unbelievably fascist about it. Since he has a wife and kids here it will be an endless revolving door. What do you think should be done about that?

You put him in jail...who is paying for his jail? He has all of his needs met there and is living better in an American jail than many people living in the Mexican border towns do. You want to keep him in jail longer..at the tax payer's expense.

You see my friend...there are no easy answers. Liberals already made this realization while you are still caught in the cat and mouse game.

Taking a hard line against an invasion can hardly be considered "fascist" in a sovereign nation. I say give every illegal one month to get their affairs in order (and this is being generous) and get the hell out. After that one month any caught here should be shot on sight.

Tattoo a number on them and if they get caught again they get shot.

Liberals capitulate to them just as they do to other criminals and potential Dem voters.

There's an easier way. Don't make it so appealing to them in the first place. Make states like California balance their budget so they cannot keep spending when nothing is there to spend. Do these things and they won't be so interested in being here.

But as far as massive waves of people crossing the border, you cannot stop it at the border. You can inact policies over here that will make it less appealing to be here, then focus on the few people crossing who might be drug dealers, gang members or criminals.

Sure, removing the incentives for them to come here and suck our system would be a great way to stave off the illegal invasion. But with Libs in power that's not likely to happen. You have to understand that the Left doesn't see these invaders as a problem; they see them as potential Democrat votes. So the last thing they want to do is disincentivize them. Instead they're drafting laws trying to give them all amnesty and citizenship, which will only induce more to come north.

Dream Act dead in Senate but the filthy Dems vow to keep pressing, against the will of the People of this country.

Yes, today is a beautiful day in America, the dream/amnesty act was shot down. It sucks for the kids but their parents were not wise to sneak across the border and then have their child. They knew what they were doing was wrong but they did it anyway.

Yeah we can. If we can have 100,000 troops in Afghanistan and 50,000 in Iraq guarding their borders we can certainly have about 100,000 National Guardsman protecting our border.

No, mister, country which let somebody live and prosper, drive a car, have a driving license, bank account and so on for 30 odd years and than kicks him/her out is plainly criminal or criminally stupid! Why the heck nobody checked this guy before ? Nowadays is freaking easy !

As long as your government wont be willing to solve the problem of immigration, you will be screwed again and again!!!
The fact that you cannot see clearly who is to blame and you are having a jerk knee reaction - kick the immigrant (or kill, no matter)- means that you are easy to manipulate simpletons!

No offense meant !

What about Polish breaking "your laws"?

Poles are being punished for being Poles enough already - why don't you back off?

M-G (wonders)

howdy !:)
