America's GDP is the second in the world right behind EU. (1)

Also, I would like to point out US barely touched its natural resources, for instance the rural land.

To make my point let me use Texas as an example. You can buy 10 acres of farmland for $28 000 just 20 miles from Houston (1 acre = 4 046.85 square meters). (2)

An average household income in Texas is $54,908 . (3)

If you're really paranoid about the economy you can save up and buy yourself a farm with some cows, chickens, kangaroos and what have you.

Of course, i almost forgot, you need guns and lots of them.

People like you, who are predicting that world is going to end soon, stocking up on shi* already.

You should start now too because when U.S goes down EU is going to cut off all the loans to Poland.

Texas alone is twice as big as the old country with half of the population, "2008, Texas had a gross state product of $1.224 trillion"

The GDP of Poland is $ 528 billion. (4, 5).

Am I worried? Nope, I have options, guns etc. lol, and really don't give shi* what people may think in Europe.

Mexican mafia lol. Yeah, I've noticed they're serious threat to the security of the U.S government. You're right, everyone fears the Mexican mafia here.

Is that the reason why the Texans love to run around in public fully armed?

they will not get us...

No, it's just in case anyone attacks. I guess Texans just enjoy the ability to defend themselves in case of attack, instead of being rounded up like sheep and not being able to protect their families in the case of a catastrophe. I'm trying to think of another time and place where that might have been useful, do you have any ideas?

I don't like it but unfortunately people DO care about America in most part of the world, hardly you will find a day without anything about America in Polish news.

I have this conversation with poles all the time. they say, "why do they have so many guns?" I lean towards what convex is getting at, but it's a topic not even worth having with polish people in most cases.

also, if i may add, regarding the title of this thread:

What do Poles know about America anyhow?

Here is one American that will tell you that the US is going down the drain. We are being invaded by trash from other countries. At one time we in the US could leave our doors open and never had any problems , real estate values have plummeted due to neglected neighborhoods. The Government sold homes to people who could not afford them. They were foreclosed, boarded up, and turned into crack houses. Our churches disappeared due to this blight.. The streets are no longer safe. The US is a country going through white flight.

Our politicians are crooked. Our Constitution is in peril. The sad part is that both parties share the same responsibility. But there is still hope.. The American people are beginning to fight back.

You're overdramatizing, streets in my town are safe, I leave my car/house door open all the time. Where do you live, in Brooklyn?

A gated community?? Like ,protected by armed guards??

Try living in a big city like, Detroit, Philly,Baltimore, Richmond, Grand Rapids ETC.

it's a place with the same looking houses, horney housewives, always busy husbands, arrogant kids, pretty filthy inside but clean outside place...

I'm surprised at you, convex. Unless you choose to live in a gheto, or hang around with crackheads, life in US is very safe. I never lock my car, most of the time forget to lock my front door, and although I am in FL now (NOT in a gated community), I lived in Chicago, New York, Miami, Connecticut... etc etc.. and the only time I had anything stolen from me was on vacation abroad. Can't think of any of my friends or co-workers getting robbed either...

I lived in Boston MA, Philadelphia PA, Valley Forge, Norfolk VA, Burlington VT, now I live near Houston, Pearland to be specific.

When i lived in a city than of course I would not leave my door open, but that is why I moved where it's ok to do that.

I know for a fact that most of the people would prefer to live in a gated community but not everyone can afford it.
Yes, I pay $600 a year to keep my neighborhood nice, clean and safe and I'm ok with that.

I do realize I sound like a total dick for saying that, but if you can't find a job or yet you let your house go into foreclosure, go back to F-ing Poland and see how that plays out for ya.

The problem is with crime moving into lower middle class. I spent about half of my life in a trailer and the other half in a house in a small neighborhood. My father is retired military, and the neighborhood that they moved to was pretty nice. They've been robbed twice, there was a shooting on their street about a month ago, each one of the cars have been broken into in various places around town.

Anyway, my point is that there seems to be a creep in crime from lower income neighborhoods into middle class neighborhoods. I like to partially thank meth for that, but maybe that's just me. It's not that easy to pick up and move, especially if you're not willing to go into debt up to your eyeballs.

That's very good price, you pay more than double in Warsaw for that.

You should definitely move out. Your neighborhood does sound like a ghetto to me bro. I would buy some land and a traitor if I had to, but i would not live there.

That sucks for you there in Warsaw, cause it sounds like you're getting ripped off for what it's worth. I live 20 minutes drive from Houston, Houston it the 4th largest city in the US.

but just to be sure, you know i'm talking about a gated community fee, right?

Not much choice on retired military salary. Cheap credit has managed to distort what a "middle class neighborhood" is for quite a few people on a fixed salary.

I don't live there. I live here in candyland.

That's great news, I am relocating to US in couple of months...

What is the living cost compare to Poland/Warsaw? I found here very expensive for the quality you get.
