I don't recall so many Americans being so negative about their own country. Bank bail-outs, high taxes, crooked poiliticians, investment funds gone astray, Afghanistan not to mention the perennial crime, urban blight, etc. How aware of this is the avergae Pole these days? Other than the low exchange rate of the dollar?
Do Poles feel America is going down the drain?
we are not like Jews ( nice stereotype by the way) nobody give a damn about you or other Polacks in other parts of the world, its sad but its true

Look Polonius3 there has always been crooked politicians in every country, but politicians are only puppets with something much more sinister working their strings. You as a journalist will know this better then I, being an Irishman living in London I am more aware what's going on in the UK then I do about Ireland . I don't think the Poles, like the rest of Europe have America in the forefront of their minds. They are to busy sorting out their own problems, my opinion of America does not come out of Tinseltown. But from friends who I served with in Vietnam, and who I talk to on a regular basis, and from my nephew who is a lawyer in Washington. As they all say there has been worst times, and according to my nephew things are starting to look a bit better. As regards Afghanistan I am glad the troops are out there, at least they are delaying the nutters getting their hands on Pakistan, and a load of nukes.
My point was that Poles have always idealised America -- the promised land. The large Polonia of Chicago and other cities sent moeny and relief packages to their Old Coutnry cousins and invited them to visit. With the decline of the dollar's value and the advantages of working in the British Isles (closer and no immigration officials on their heels), I was wondering whether and to what extent that has changed. Only Poles cold answer that question properly on the basis of their own feelings and observatiosn of others around them. BTW, has the Irish view of America changed? Boston used to be the Second Dublin.
most americans are not aware that usa may be going down the drain.. most have false feeling of the situation.
Not that I am Polish, an Immigrant or an American but....
I would add to the list the national deficit... Who is going to pay for it?

If people are going to be so negative about America our country is doomed. Anyone ever hear about the power of positive thinking? You create your own reality. America has lost that spirit of helping out our fellow man and that is the reason you do things, not for the sake of any monetary value you will receive. Change the state of mind and mood and life will be better here.
Quit being so angry and bitter about everything because you really are coming off as a bunch of sad, spoiled brats. We have it better here than anywhere else so stop it already.

PP, just don't get tricked into permanently wearing the rose coloured glasses. A bit of realism goes a long way in picking your positive thinking projects.

Polonius didn't you live in both USA & Poland? You've seen both sides, you should tell us your opinion. What do you think of Poland & USA?

We'll be fine. I am sure we can halt such happenings due to our awareness and preparedness. I walk with great confidence and swagger. Our best days are ahead of us, not behind. :)

Announced today: Goldman Sachs made over three billion in profits this year. Now, tell me, why do you think the dollar will collapse? Sounds like the govt is cashing in on it's loans and the interest they're generating ;)

how many dollars the fed printed and gave to banks at 0% 13 trillion 10 ?
how much gov. borrowed ?
with all the new dollars there is one way to go ... down.
do you know how banks make the profit?
they lend to U.S. gov the buy their treasury bounds with the bail out money and the fed money.
this house of cards will collapse with one more hit.

America will always be fine because we know the spirit is first and foremost, everything else is secondary. Our spirit will see us through.

Many American still don't get it, really. Some do and started bit**ing, however quietly... You know, this country has plenty of resources. If it get worse, maybe the US will put some of the wild life behind a fence in Alaska and start drilling... :)

drilling for oil why U.S. has more natural gas to drive their cars for ever, but real change has to come from green energy.
usa is finally trying to turn green.. it will take a while unless the republicans throw blockades in the way, like they have always done.. usa may just be fine as the green energy business could drive usa out of trouble.. we shall see.. marek is right about the dollar and possibility of a bad crash though..
Green energy sounds good and modern - in discussions, but the realization is quite remote.
Whoever comes up with a practical and efficient green energy production will become the next Bill Gates. Whatever we have now is expensive and mediocre.

that's not exactly right... the big windmills are going up everywhere and i mean everywhere.. that's green energy too.. other stuff is under development and will be coming to the store near you soon.. :D :D

Well Scotland has a huge target in converting its energy sources to green. Something like by 2011 33% of electricity will be from green sources and we have already passed that target :)
^^ what is the green source there??
Just another Empire on the wane at the expense of the Bankers. Read that how you will.
Besides, America MUST fall if the Global Empire of the New World Order is to take root...
Besides, America MUST fall if the Global Empire of the New World Order is to take root...
I can assure you that America don't go anywhere.
America will not go anywhere for the next 20-30 years. It will remain the worlds biggest superpower. Their economy is way to big to crash in a day.
But yeah, the giant is in trouble. For now.
But yeah, the giant is in trouble. For now.
The future of the America is deciding itself right now. Will it fall victim to the socialists and collapses or shakes off the Obamas of this world and survives, it remains to be seen. US has made the first steps down the road torwards the communism, torwards gulags, hunger and oppresion, but it still can save itself.

Canada's banks needed no bailouts and are among the strongest in the world.
We are a very large country with only 10% of USA polulation and are tired of USA saying they are the best country in the world. To me, it is bragging without backup.
I think the best country in the world is the country your heart is in. There are hundreds of best countries in the world.
