What is the procedure for a British person to renew their passport in Poland?
Ive renewed my passport here (Warsaw) and have one for my daughter born in Poland.
Firstly forget about Warsaw they dont issue British passports any more, as of recently everythings now processed through the British Embassy in Dusseldorf. This actually took me a while to find out (looking at the British Embassy in Poland site it wasnt updated last time i checked).
You post the application via Poctex and they will return via DHL courier, the best way to pay is download a (credit card authorisation form) from the site and check the box DHL courier return, the cost is 25 EUR (i think). You can also use this form to pay for the passport, quite handy really.
My daughters passport was three days late arriving, so i managed to get a tracking number through DHL Wroclaw, the package went through three sorting deps in Germany within 12 hours and was held in Wroclaw for five fuking days, bearing in mind DHL guarantee packages to be delivered within 24 hours from despatch. They said the address was wrong but when it finally arrived it was perfect, thats Poland for you.
You'll need somebody to verify your photo as usual, i use a British friend who's a company director and lives near me, but you can use a foreigner as long as theyre the usual Doctor, solicitor etc.. They'll have to write "i declare this is a true likeness blah de blah in English of course.
Its all on the site, hang on i'll try and find it.

Ahh theyve finally updated it, looks like a renewal will set you back 161 EUR plus the 25 EUR DHL fee 186 Euro wtf. £77.50 for a renewal in the UK so 94.50 EUR including post, almost double on the continent. These Embassies/Consulates really know how to bring in the cash.
