Half Polish, half Russian girl from the US. Would I be accepted in Poland?

I'm half Polish, half Russian girl from the US. I'm 19 years old and I'm thinking about moving to Poland. Would I be viewed as a foreigner/alien even though I'm 100 percent slavic?

You would be viewed as Polish-American. How you behaved would determine how you were treated and accepted. Poles don't really identify as Slavic. More as European. (I'd keep quiet about the Russian half, though.)

Do you speak Polish fluently, or at least very well?

Poles (like Czechs) don't really associate themselves with being Slavs, so I wouldn't mention that.

I feel more European/Slavic than American, to be honest. I speak a little bit of Polish and understand some. I want to move to Europe (Poland) because I love European culture and lifestyle. I want to learn Polish and learn how to read/write/speak like any other normal Pole, lol.

Poles don't mention they are proud to be slavic or anything like that? never knew. I thought Polish people in general were very nationalistic/patriotic?

another question, my father is 100% polish, was born in Poland, was a citizen at one point (became US citizen in 1982) though he doesn't have Polish citizenship anymore... am I still eligible for a Polish passport by ancestry?

Not really, they might talk big but that's about all. They are kinda similar to Americans, though different circumstances of those two makes it seems world apart.


Poles do mention to be proud to be Poles but not all the time.

No. Only 110% Polish are accepted in Poland and the Polish can recognise someone of not pure blood. In that case whole village participate in the ritual hunting. "The Not-Pure" then gets cooked in a pot and gets eaten during the very next full moon. People then pray and celebrate for the rest of the week.

Seriously. Those posts are getting ridiculous. Poland is as modern country as any other Western one. Stop asking those silly questions and accept that no one will even care who you are and where you come from. Jeez.


Utter nonsense. All my friends feel and acknowledge being Slavs. All cherish that fact and are proud of it. No idea what Polish (you sure?) you have met but i assume those were the typical expats that communicate using "Ponglish" and are self-proclaimed "Citizens of the World". It's the worst kind.
