Rybnik.... it's not africa you know. Just get yourself some phone numbers for Wr.... taxis. Google them. And cheer up and do not be scared that much. :-)

the answer is yes. but be careful and check the price before u get in the cab. i don't trust the cabs in plac solny.

u will have the same problem at wroclaw mainline railway station. on the side of the station that faces the bus station u should be ok. on the other side u will get scammed.

Jesus, it sounds like you're going to Somalia.... Do not put that much emotion into all this. I kinda know how you feel Rybnik, because of how long you had been gone but really, once you get there you will be fine. Go get ripped off by a cab driver if you want, you won't exactly go bankrupt because of that. :-) Stop planning already and stop worrying about such minutiae, just go, explore, be surprised (or not) enjoy. DO NOT PANIC ANY MORE!!!

You're right Z. I used to be a care-free traveller. It appears the older I get, the more hung-up I become on details- "be prepared" and all that. I've got my plane ticket and my hotel room. That's enough to start right? OK. Deep breathes, imagery; I'm better now. Thanks. I neede that :)

Tip. The Marriot Hotel runs a shuttle minibus to the airport (WAW). It costs just a bit more than a cab. Look out for it returning from the airport. Once I arrived hot and sweaty at Centralna carrying a couple of cases. I crossed the road to the Marriot and a porter literally ran to meet me and put my stuff into the shuttle. I wasn't a Marriot guest but they are all business and service. As it happened, I was the only passenger, so I rode like a Lord's bastard to the airport for 25PLN. That was a few years ago, but I bet it's not much more expensive now.

rybnik, I'm older than you and I also like to be prepared, but relax. You'll be fine. You don't have to worry about every small detail. One tip. Don't excange a lot of money at the airport because the rates are terrible. Go to a kntor once you're here, or bring a few zl with you. Is there a Cooks where you live?
