Gift idea for something uniquely American that is difficult to find in Poland?

hahhaha = the redwood tree idea is brilliant - there is surely lack of giant redwood trees in Poland - definitely bring one as a souvenir ;) - I'm sure the US Navy leases one of their nuclear aircraft carriers to you to bring it to Gdynia (or maybe you can hire one of those giant Russian jets)

I guess I know why pawian mentioned a bison - he must have got rid of a couple of his pot plants from his balcony recently and thinks how to fill the void ;)

Depending on his age and taste etc. Any kind of sports jersey from an American team would be nice. A lot of Polish guys
like the NBA so maybe a LeBron jersey or a Nowitzki jersey he would really like. Not sure how much they run though and
how much you have to spend...

Cap'n Crunch cereal.
If you send him an American football, don't forget to also buy and send him a pack of the needles you need to refill them with air :-)

Chili is an excellent idea. Jars of Salsa are readily availabe, thoughout much of the US. I recall a different thread on PF. Someone from Poland was very found of Taco Bell salsa.

I really like the sports equipment/memorabilia idea. But what for the ladies? I don't want to bring only flowers and/or candies. There's got to be something the young and old Polkis get jazzed about.

i still say bring American soda. so many good sodas that you just can't get in Poland. i still recommend cans of Coke or Pepsi (it tastes completely different, something my students wouldn't believe till i actually brought it in for them to try for themselves), Mountain Dew (talk about tasting different here vs. there, WOW...), maybe Mello Yellow. Of course it is available, by Polish producers, but it is an alien drink and Poles aren`t fond of it.

But, as a gift, a can or even a 6-pack is too cheap. I would be embarassed to offer someone a can of drink as a present. A small barrel of ginger ale might be much better.

A bottle of decent bourbon e.g Wild Turkey or Knob Creek will be a perfect and elegant way to show appreciation and it will not offend

Crabbies make a 4% alc. ginger ale. 2 for £3.50 in my local Sainsbury's. They're also doing buy one get one free on 6 packs of Coca-cola. It's a soda not a beer if any of you are confused and think only beer comes in 6packs...

The only alco pop even British 13 year olds wrinkle their noses at :)
