Do many Polish people in America hate Americans?

I think hate is an awfully strong word. Most Americans are fat and lazy, at least in my part of the country. I know I know just leave that’s the most common ignorant answer I get when I share my opinion. It's not that easy and you can’t just pick up and move when you don’t like something. That’s the easy way out; I believe it to be a more noble approach to stay and try to effect things and people in a positive way.

I'm sure they probably do. My family comes from some earlier European Americans some around 1900 or not too far from then and a few were all American white people with generations going back pretty far before it gets back to Europe. We have kind of a dislike for the "less classy" American types like hillbillies for example. Of course we are pretty poor/middle class, but my parents were originally from Maryland, which is more advanced and sophistocated than my location (North Carolina). My parents and I are kind of annoyed by the local yocal news we get around here and all of the dumb hillbillies with a really bad sense of humor. I wouldn't say we really hate anybody though, although the locals around here kind of hate us because we don't fit in with them. It has been a lifelong struggle for me trying to fit in with these people and feel a sense of belonging but nothing has ever changed. Lol. If I were a Polish immigrant or any European immigrant for that matter, I sure know I would because we have an idiot culture and are without a doubt the laziest country in the world.

If you mean military my parents aren't but hmm lets see. My grandfather (dad's side), uncle (mom's side), great uncle (dad's side), and probably many more I am missing just can't think of them right now. They were WWII, Japanese, and Korean wars.

"Americans are lazy" - it may have something to do with the fact they have not very good taste as far as going for vacation, for example.

Even by going to Mexico you can learn a lot about life and yourself as a person when spending time with native Mexicans.

that's because mexico, for the most part, is a dump.

i'd like you to give me the cost for this vacation "in good taste" for an American family of 4. 2 weeks, warm weather, English cannot be the country's first language, hotel costs and airfare. Family of 4.

GO.

Speak for yourself, sure am glad I do not live in N. Carolina. I quite like the culture and so do all my hard working friends ( where we live, anyway).

it was just listed as a warning that americans security cannot be ensured, i knew this and when i heard it it still gets to me, i mean the way mexicans can come to the USA and have rights and work and even become citizens but the story i just heard was about how the one year old watched both parents shot close range in two armoured suv's by bordertown drug gangs, whatever i guess i dont care that much really but we have so many mexicans walking around, working here, the immigration issue to me is what it is but it effects everyone one way or another, heh ambiguous enough?

what i mean is i dont have a strong stance on imigration other than 9/11 made it harder for eastern europeans to enter legally while everything is written in spanish here and some town in texas are conducted entirely in spanish, on the other hand i have more respect for them rather than many of the so called outstanding citizens.

I didn't say the people here were more lazy than anyone else necessarily, I was talking about the whole country in general. In wal mart I see tons ignorant fat asses with unhealthy food littered in their cart. They probably never exercise, are not very educated, and watch the tv set constantly. You can't deny that this country as a whole (not everywhere some places are worse than others) has a steryotype for being ignorant and lazier than everyone else. The people around here kind of frustrate me for various reasons, I just don't get along with them. Someone could dispute that NC is a great place to live, but trust me its not all its cracked up to be by them.

watch the tv set constantly

This is probably the real heart of the matter. TV will turn your brain to mush and generally insult you.

I've been around the States quite a bit and found NC to be not too bad. Met some great ppl there and some boneheads too. Thats pretty much the same world over! America is like a box of chocolates, you just never know what you are gonna get. Every once in a while you do get one of your favorites though. Suprisingly, I've met more ignorant ppl in IL and PA than I ever did in WV or AL. I would have never imagined that.

A lot of people see only some commonalities in American people and then decide it is crap or decide that there is no culture. The same people will usually then proceed to rail against some (cultural) group of Americans. Funny.

I don't think of me, myself, or anyone I hang with as lazy, or idiotic. I'm half Polish, from my mom, and then I have German and French from my dad, and a bit of Irish somehow too. Isn't that strange? I'm part German and Polish? Not to be racial or anything, but the Germans tried to MURDER the Poles during WWII didn't they? That's actually the reason my mom's family came over here to America, before Adolf Hitler released his wrath on the Poles. But I think most of the Germans were probably good people, I mean, they were probably just following Hitler's orders so that he didn't go crazy and kill their family too!

Only thing is, my family's been here for so long, I barely know anything about my heritage! My mom was the youngest of her siblings and was bilingual, Polish and English, but when her grandpa died, her family stopped speaking it. I don't see my mom's family that much anymore either. (They live a few hours away) It's not like I'm too lazy to learn Polish or go to Poland or anything, but it's not that easy. When people say English is a tough language to learn, they don't know how hard Polish seems for someone who's spoke English her entire life!

When was it made? Maybe in the 90s. Definitely all the wars of 2000s and Barrack Obama. Right now I'm pretty sure it would be the other side.

For me personally Georgia is the favorite nation.

USA can't expect to have high popularity in Poland if it betrays it to Russia on a very, very special day - 18th of September. This is an unofficial national day of betrayal - back stab entrance of USSR forces in Poland in 1939.

Not to mention that Obama didn't care to come to Kaczynski's funeral, while Saakashvili was also in Washington at this time, took great effort and came to Kraków with his family. In this time Obama was saying 'we all are Poles. Poland - you are an ally' and went to play golf (really, golf). Sorry, but for most of us only deeds speak the truth.

is that why Poland has BY FAR more of it's population living in America than in any other foreign country?

Face it Poland, your country likes America. And for most young people that claim to not like it, you sure as hell seem to enjoy America's products and culture. Just walk through a store or turn on your TV at night.

I can certainly understand why people have issues with America. I'm American and I have issues myself with my own country, but the blind animosity from people that have probably never even been there or that constant attitude and rolling of eyes when they hear anything about the states....that I simply will never understand.

Yeah. I am not a fan of America, but I do enjoy sitcoms and movies. Actually my motto is:

America=for movies and tv shows. American music sucks.

Europe=For music. European music owns. European films and tv series suck so much, I sold my tv.

Everybody hates America.

The American Government, maybe.

I haven't met enough Americans to say if I hate them or not.

Not keen on a lot of the social/cultural aspects of the USA, but even I have to admit that a lot of great things have come out of the USA.

I guess.. if you like Electronica. I still like muscians not DJs. The English are very good for music though.

In the 1980s (say, up to about 1986-87), I would have said that the best music was from Manchester, New York, Chicago, and some from Detroit - an obvious US bias. But from about 1987 onwards, only London and Manchester really mattered (although Belgium/NL was also significant around 1990-92).

Although Manchester lost its way a bit in the 1990s, I never really bothered with American music after about 1991-92 (except for a brief rap-metal/hardcore phase in the mid-1990s).

Lol @ English being good in music.

Personal preference, isn't it - I love English music.

But Polish music... now that's another matter altogether! lol!

I don't think even Americans have.. 2000s - to present: American music is dogsh;t now. It's really sad. I'm not sure kids have the work ethic it takes to grind it out in a studio until you create something magic.
