I will keep this short :) basically my girlfriend already came to canada once for a 2 month stint, now here for 5 months (and we took a week vacation down south). I am a Canadian National.
Coming back from Carribean, a super aggressive and mean CBSA border guard pulled us aside and grilled us and although she is still within her 6 months (visitor stay to Canada), he says he flagged her in the computer and that if she ever wants to come back we need to do a Residency application.
This seems a bit insane since I told him that we were undecided if moving here permanently, and that she always abided the laws here and has left before her stay is up.
How long must she leave Canada for before coming back for another 'up to ' 6 month stay?
Can he really flag her and prevent her from re-entering when she has done nothing wrong and is still following Canadian Tourist visitor laws?
In the nation of the obcokrajowa... my poor girlfriend is treated like a Criminal :( the sad fact of Canada marching lock-step to please our American friends south of the border...
disappointedly yours,
Zbigniew
